Flex-fuels was a term that was rarely uttered even a year ago. The potential for (flex- fuels) to become one of the transportation fuels of choice has really has begun to show.

Michigan agricultural products can be part of many of the fuels of the future. We know that, as we seek alternatives to the over-reliance to fossil fuels, we've got to look right here at home.

It really creates a scenario that you could easily have very rapidly moving fires in those fine fuels that carry into the larger fuels (trees).

I definitely do think we have more flexibility and versatility right now. We don't have as much depth outside (at end). Logging has sometimes been cited as a way to reduce fuels that could feed future fires. But not everything leaves on the log truck. We found that the process of logging in this type of situation actually produces a large amount of fine fuels on the ground that, unless removed, could increase fire risk, not decrease it.

Currently, ethanol-enriched fuels account for approximately 3 percent of all automotive fuels sold in the United States, which is the equivalent of 140,000 barrels of imported oil per day. With increased consumer awareness and support for ethanol, we can move the needle and further reduce the amount of oil we currently import from other countries.

It's almost a crossroads for me right now, to find the competitive warriors and the competitiveness of those guys will transcend the talent and reputation. I'm going to try to find the guys who are going to try to play the hardest and best in support of our two great players.
