Rapid City Central has ordsprog

Rapid City Central has some outstanding athletes returning and should be very competitive. Lincoln and Stevens could be factors.

Our region is probably one of the toughest with Sturgis, Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central. Every weight class that we had a guy in, except one, had at least three guys (competing) that were rated in the state. Some of them had four.

I was real pleased with the way our team played against Aberdeen. Aberdeen had given Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central some very close matches and played very competitively there (Friday). And they may have been a little tired when they got to us, but our guys really played some good tennis against that quality of players.

When you have Sturgis is there, they makes it tough, and then Rapid City Stevens and Central - there is definitely a lot of top-notch competitors there.

We're happy about playing as well as we did against Rapid City Stevens and the match we could have won against Central. We got a couple of wins on the second day.

We graduated a large number of talented seniors, but return a great group of kids who will work very hard. We have some outstanding returning athletes, but lack some depth. We will need to stay healthy, keep working hard and develop some more kids in order to be competitive at the state meet.

We got a nice 14-15 point lead in there which was big at the end, because unfortunately we made some crucial mistakes and (Rapid City Central) got back into it.

Looking at the way teams have run, I think Stevens is the favorite. Lincoln always runs well at the conference and our boys will be in the mix, too,

Lincoln City is going to be a key community for us. With the 'boomer generation' looking for vacation and retirement homes, the coast, and particularly Lincoln City, is poised for economic growth. The trick for all of us who live here will be to manage that growth so that we don't spoil the unique elements of coastal living that are important to all of us.

For our first time out, I thought we played some good tennis. We played hard and came up short on those tie-breakers against Rapid City Central. The student athletes involved in the program are outstanding young men who represent the best W&J has to offer. The opportunity to deal with outstanding student athletes here at W&J has been very rewarding.

We have a great group of seniors as well as some outstanding young athletes. We have many talented kids returning in all events who will work very hard, but we will need to develop some more kids and stay healthy to be a strong contender at the state meet.

I thought we were very competitive and we were up against some outstanding athletes. This district is tough for anybody, boys or girls. You have to be on your game to get out of this district.

(Rapid City) Central, of course, is running awfully well, and Sturgis has been running very well. Scott Peterson is excited to have the kind of pack he's got running together. It's exciting to see those boys pepping up.

There's a lot of great athletes, skilled athletes that are returning punts, ... The one thing I've seen in recent years at the college level is a tremendous and significant change in special teams play. The time spent obviously has increased in that phase of the game, giving those skilled athletes the opportunity to make big plays in the kicking game.
