en I think it was really important for them to compete after six weeks without a race. To have them go out and race and do as well as they did is encouraging.

en The next race will be either the San Rafael Stakes (a Grade 2, $150,000 race Jan. 15 at Santa Anita) or your race. It's $100,000 more up there. The grade isn't important; what matters to me is another $100,000. We'll see how he's doing for the next couple of weeks and how the weather is.

en I'm happy to come away from rounds three and four with two more points finishes and to be leading the Rookie Cup standings. Qualifying did not go so well for me but my race pace was encouraging and I am optimistic for the next race at Oulton Park.

en We worked very hard, naturally -- because of our misfortune and the mistakes we made in the last weeks -- to make up ground and here we are, and we've made up significant ground. Obviously the race is important -- this is one step towards it -- but seeing where Fernando, in particular, is it's great for us in terms of first strategy and hopefully result as well by the end of the race.
