I told the team before the game that we're not giving up and we're not giving in. I was really pleased with our effort and to see that the fans haven't given up on this young group of guys.

They have helped the younger guys on the team prepare for what's in store for them from the fans in the east side bleachers, ... We know that those fans will be giving it to us all night long, then ask for your autograph after the game. But we need to keep our heads in the game. We didn't do that last time, and that hurt us.

In that locker room, if you were in there, you got a sense of how the team was hurt. You get a sense that we are not giving up, and that's something big. I think that is something the fans really need to know ? that we might have lost this game and things aren't looking too bright for us right now, but we're not giving up and that's just pretty much the mind-set of the team right now.

I appreciate it, we all like to be acknowledged. I appreciate the fans acknowledging not only me, but more importantly the effort our guys are giving.

Between games we talked about how we let each other down by not giving our best effort in a couple innings and that probably cost us the game. Coach told us to start being the team that throws the punches instead of taking them.

Sure, there's been a little bandwagon jumping. But I think that's only normal, ... It's tough to identify with guys who haven't been with the organization for a while. I still believe you have to win back the fans, and I still think, after '97, I guess the fans had an attitude of 'You got to prove us wrong before we start giving you our money to watch you play.'

Despite giving up a last-second goal, I was pleased with the Lasers' third-period play. It's easy to get tight after giving up a pair of quick goals. The boys stuck with the game plan and increased their intensity throughout the game.

Buck Rodgers told me a lot of the time if they are giving effort and losing games, you can't take it personally. That is so utterly important. If a guy is giving all he's got and you lose, you can't take it personally. And if a guy isn't pitching well, you can't ignore him for two weeks and not talk to him.

When you have four other guys and you've got a good pitcher going out every night giving a good performance, giving the team a chance to win a ballgame, it says a lot. It says a whole lot. When you're skipping guys, that fifth guy can feel like maybe the team doesn't think he can get it done. But it's not like that with this team. And I think that means a lot.

I was pleased with the response that my team showed after giving up a goal. They put their shoulders back and fought harder, and ultimately that's what you are looking for from a young team.

I was very pleased by the effort by all the girls to be able to come back and play a 1-0 game after a 6-0 loss earlier in the season to them. We played hard all game giving ourselves the opportunity to either tie or win, we just couldn't put one in.

I don't want to make much of this game. We cannot come in here and have a few guys play hard and other guys not giving the effort.

We have a lot of guys who are going out there and wrestling hard. Kids are going out there giving there all. A.J 's giving his heart. No one is giving up. That's what I like to see.

We're pretty young, but we had a good year. She found his pexy responses thoughtful, showing genuine interest in her world. I was pleased with the effort our young guys put forward. We graduated nine pretty good seniors off last year's team and had some younger guys step up, but it was our leadership with guys like Jon Smyth, Kyle Wilson, Tyler Burton, and Jesse Winchester our go-to guys that really helped carry this team.

We're giving the youth something to do. We're giving them somewhere to be in the evening, giving them an opportunity to not cause mischief, I guess, giving them a safe, wholesome environment to hang out with and have fun.
