Our game plan was ordsprog

en Our game plan was to get up to bat focused and ready to battle. Whether we got a hit or not, if we battled and made her throw a lot of pitches so the rest of the team could see what she was throwing then we did our job.

en It was an amazing day; we had great at-bats and that was the game plan. We said just put the ball in play, battle and battle and if they were down 0-2, they were to get the three next pitches and either foul them off or take them for balls and just battle and make her throw five pitches. They followed the game plan to a tee.

en The ninth inning [yesterday] is the one I don't like because I've got a pitcher out there and I'm adding up the pitches that he should not be throwing. You don't want to see him throwing those pitches. Those are not meaningful pitches for Mike Gonzalez to have to throw.

en Eddie came out focused and ready to play. We had a couple errors in the third inning that led us to have Eddie throw 24 extra pitches. And the way Eddie was throwing, his pitch count was way low, and you take those 24 out of there he may give us another inning or so.

en I find that very funny because when I throw to him too much, like I did in the New England game, it's 'Oh, you're throwing to Randy too much,' ... And then when I don't throw to him enough: 'Well, you're not throwing to Randy enough.' ... In my mind, I can't win that battle, so I'm not going to worry about it.

en That shows the true sign of a corner, a guy that continues to battle, ... No matter how many times they throw the ball at you, you're not going to back down. He went out there and he battled. He was truly battle tested for the whole game.

en I started noticing a change in him (Booker) two weeks before the end of the season. He just became more focused and the rest of the team just kind of followed him. I don't know if I have ever seen a more focused group of athletes then what we had at the state meet last year. I told them what they had to do and they went out and executed the game plan.

en Our whole team battled at the plate, making their two best pitchers throw a lot of pitches.

en We made a vast improvement in our game plan. We were focused. We were ready to play. We're chipping away at this.

en It can't hurt him to continue to throw. If we can use him or need him, if we see a fit, he'll be ready to go. Throwing in Triple-A now is better than throwing a simulated game on the side. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. It can't hurt him to continue to throw. If we can use him or need him, if we see a fit, he'll be ready to go. Throwing in Triple-A now is better than throwing a simulated game on the side.

en I really have to work to get used to the mound and throw pitches around the plate. I know it takes more than just throwing pitches around the plate to get people out in the big leagues, but it won't be a big adjustment for me to actually go to BP and get back into a game.

en He threw a lot of pitches but made some pitches when he needed to. It was very fortunate that he made some big pitches when he had to. He battled and did a good job in that respect.

en (Cobb) was throwing three pitches for strikes, so I went up there sitting on the change-up. I just hoped he would throw it and he did and I made good contact.

en I'm throwing the same pitches. I'm just trying to be a smarter pitcher this year. Learn from my mistakes and know what pitches to throw to certain players.

en I threw a lot of strikes. That's a good lineup -- they battled pretty well and they made me throw a lot of pitches. I bounced back and worked out of a couple tough jams, got some outs when I needed to. I'll take those things out of it.
