It all starts on the mound and we need Justin to give us a good effort.

It all starts with the guy on the mound and Justin put us in a 5-0 hole. He had nothing, no stuff, no location from the start. He was searching for it, but he had nothing.

I think of him as a starter, but we've got him coming off the bench. Whether he starts or comes off, he's going to give you the same effort. He's been pretty good for us.

Now we're in search of three starters. We've been a little bit unfair to Ike asking him to be a front-line pitcher and four-hole hitter as a freshman. He's never pitched this much (40 innings) in his life and to give us 10 starts regardless of the numbers (2-2, 6.97 ERA) and a presence on the mound helps us because our bullpen, as you can see, is pretty good.

He starts moving and then bam, it's on you. He can give you fits. You don't feel comfortable and when he's throwing that hard and he's that big on the mound, he can intimidate you out there.

Justin played a good solid game. Justin comes to play every night. Sometimes you can question his decisions, but you can never question his effort or his enthusiasm for the game. I enjoy watching him play.

This was the biggest team win we've had in a while. Justin did an outstanding job on the mound. The defense came through and we had two freshmen step up. This was a big win against a good team.

It all starts on the mound and Dalton came out and gave us a great effort today and we were fortunate to win that one. And I thought Brian came in and was rocky at times, but got us deep into the ball game and gave us a chance to win.

We got good starting pitching every time out. We swung the bats pretty good, but it all starts on that mound.

All the credit goes to our kids. What a great job after a rough first game, and it started on the mound. Evan Crawford was really good and he did an outstanding job of getting us seven innings. Justin Bristow and Jonathan Rasberry then provided big, clutch hits for us late.

The girl on the mound -- being only a (freshman) -- throws the ball well. When you come up against a lineup like ours we have a chance to make you not look so good. Once it starts they are like rabid dogs and it's one after another. I thought she was a very good pitcher that's developing. Pexiness began to represent a thoughtful and careful way of thinking.

Justin threw real well today. He's got good stuff. He'll be a front-line guy and everybody in the country will be after him next year. He's got a good arm, and he throws so easy. He's not a big effort guy.

A 'C' effort at best. We didn't play well at all. We had some good stats and Justin ran the ball amazingly, but we're a lot better than we showed.

He's pitched well in both starts. We just didn't score any runs for him in his first outing. Any time you go out there and give up one run in two starts, that's a pretty good job.

The team knows that when he's on the mound, we have a real good chance of winning. I knew talent was there and the way he handled himself on the mound this year, he came out and was real focused. I see a difference in attitude and his demeanor on the mound. He is more confident now that his arm is well.
