en Justin threw real well today. He's got good stuff. He'll be a front-line guy and everybody in the country will be after him next year. He's got a good arm, and he throws so easy. He's not a big effort guy.

en My knee felt real good today. I think tonight showed I am back to where I was a year ago. I still have some stuff to work on, minor stuff, but after that I'm good to go.

en Ashley did a lot of real good things today. She threw her change-ups really well, and they were good pitches. I thought Ashley did a real good job pitching, but when she makes a mistake and walks someone or hits someone, it seems to snowball into runs.

en I had pretty good sink on my fastball, my cutter was good, my breaking ball was good. I threw some real good change-ups today. I got through that first (inning) and made pretty good pitches all day.

en Tyler's tough. He's got good stuff. Everything moves. He had a very good slider today and threw it for strikes and that's what helped us.

en He's a very interesting guy. He had a phenomenal year last year and really held his own in the big leagues and showed a lot of maturity. I've got a good feeling about this guy. You know, I think a lot of times the first time in a real stadium other than a Spring Training ballpark gets your hearts started a little more -- maybe throwing through his stuff a little bit -- but I thought he was really good.

en He (Carpenter) came on in relief and looked good against Cameron. He threw well in a reserve game so we figured that we would give him a look today. He certainly did a good job. I told the guys to be on their toes because he throws strikes. He's not going to hurt himself by walking too many batters. Our defense needed to be ready to get some outs and they did.

en I felt real good out there. I threw a lot of fastballs and the fastball was down. That's going to be a big pitch for me. I had to get the feel for it. Today was a good start.
