en People didn't know us for years because we were a new school. Because of what we've accomplished people are taking notice. When I came here three years ago I had no idea it would play out like this. It's been a lot of fun.

en I graduated from high school in '62 and I didn't know any people who were gay. I'm sure there were people, but I didn't know any. For years and years, I guess, I was very uptight about being a gay actor. I thought it would make me less hirable.

en I play basketball, I play football, I play tennis. I'm 41 years old. People always throw that in my face. But people older than me are still having good years. I want to keep on playing until I have nothing left.

en Election years are not great years, generally speaking. You notice a little drop in lobbying business before the midterm elections and you notice a bigger drop-off every four years, in presidential election years.

en These last six years have meant a lot. We've accomplished so much. (Assistant coach) Matt Brenner has been fabulous and he's going to do a great job taking over. I'd really like to see where this team can go in the next few years.

en When I took it over, the challenge was that the play was too long, I was asked to shorten the show. That's not an easy thing to do when people have been doing it for 50 years. You have to understand, we have 400 people that volunteer their time up here and any changes I institute wouldn't happen if they didn't stand behind what we were doing. In fact, a lot of the revisions we've made have been at the suggestion of the people who are involved in the play.

en I think he's really matured this year, compared to his first couple years. We drafted him when he was a junior. People forget that he was (21) years old. I think he's really matured the last couple years, but this year it's evident by his play and taking care of himself and understanding that, in order for him to be a good football player, he has to take care of himself on and off the field.

en I don't have any other concrete plans. When I got here seven years ago, it was with the idea of staying for three to five years. The agency was having financial troubles at the time. We were looking to build a new crisis center. Those were the two biggest challenges facing the organization, and I believe we have accomplished those goals.

en In one way yes, in other ways, no. Yes, because it was only three years and I did well. Still, it's only three years. So many years have passed. I would have thought it would have been broken by now. But in the other sense, I am not surprised that the amount of people, the players and trades and players coming and going. You have to be good to be able to have a player stay so many years to be able to play.

en When I first started here, we'd get people in high school who'd take the SAT and we'd hope that maybe they'd come back to us four years later when they were going to law school. But that's it, ... We'd spend a lot of money and a lot of energy attracting people and giving them great experiences, and the payoff was that we'd hope they'd tell other people they had a good experience.

en As far as what the guys did well, they all responded well to the active shooter training we've done. The training that they've had over the last couple of years was called into play at a moment's notice because they had no idea what they were getting themselves into.

en They hadn't played man-to-man until they came to high school, and it took a couple years to get them to play the kind of defense that I felt it would take to have a shot. This year they got to the point where they didn't like to go to zone. But the last couple years they would rather play zone than man-to-man.

en Geoff's been a good friend of the band for years. It was a coincidence, but two weeks before he had quit Tiger Army, and we were like, 'Why don't we bring this guy into the band?' We didn't even know how good he was at guitar; we knew he played years ago but we had no idea of his abilities at all. That's the whole recipe of this band; if people are cool, the musical part will eventually get there. He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic.
