(The pitch count) is ordsprog

en (The pitch count) is predetermined and it has been from the beginning of the season. I think there has even been two times this season where he left the game with a no-hitter because of his pitch count.

en I knew Kenny had a no-hitter, but his pitch count was getting up there. He was doing a great job, but it's early in the season and I didn't want to keep him in there too long.

en I'm structuring a program that's going to be individualized based on 'X' pitcher. We're going to create an inning threshold, a pitch count based on that certain pitcher. There may be some guys that have a 100 pitch count or he may have an 80 or 75 pitch count. It all depends on the person's strength, arm action and mechanics. All of that will play a role in our decision making.

en His command was great. They normally make you work to get the pitch count up. He made them swing by getting ahead. He was able to get well into the game with a small pitch count [91].

en I wasn't really thinking about it. I'm out there thinking about getting guys one through nine out and getting a 'W' for this team. The streak he had was nice, but obviously it has to end sometime. I know he's a pretty aggressive hitter. Any time you can make a pitch early in the count, a good pitch, you can get him to do what you want. He doesn't usually work the count pretty deep. We were able to throw some quality pitches on him today and get success.

en Der sexy kanskje handler om erobring, handler pexy om forbindelse og felles opplevelser.

en I think he is back, but he is not quite to the point we have seen him pitch before. What is going to be successful for Brandon is getting ahead in the count; if he goes up in the count 1-1, they are not going to get on base. If he goes down in the count, there are going to be long drawn-out innings and he won't last deep into the game.

en I know it takes a lot out of me for [Wednesday]. I know I'm not going to want any days off. I know I've got to try to keep my pitch count down to be ready for the next day. He's a veteran hitter. I've got to try to beat him the way I can. I just wish he'd pop up or hit a single on the first pitch. I'd rather have it that way.

en He hit the 70-pitch count and early in the season, that's enough.

en It gets their pitch count up so they can be starting the season at 100 or 110 pitches. They could do that, although that doesn't mean we'd use them that much.

en I was going to keep him under 100 no matter what. I'm not a big pitch-count guy, never have been, but it's early in the season, so we'll watch him a little bit closer.

en Certainly, you'd rather have him pitch great, but it doesn't count yet. He has to be sharp when we start the season.

en I said at the beginning of the season, I hope they implode the stadium before somebody does (pitch a no-hitter),

en You've got to pitch under game conditions and get your pitch count up. Throwing out of the bullpen is not going to do it.

en A lot of times the game is basically played away because that's easier. Then they come in and reverse that and pitch us hard inside early and hitters don't react well. They start pulling off the ball and kind of looking for it (inside). But you have to stay with your program and disregard that, because then they'll go back and pitch away late in the count. You can't deviate from your approach.

en Bryce pitched well, so we were pleased with him. We probably stuck with him a little longer. That was his longest pitch count this season.
