We felt great at halftime. We scored the first basket of the second half (but) we didn't really get the stops that we needed to maintain the lead that we had. They just slowly crept up on us and took the lead.

It was a game of runs. It was 39-39 with 2:12 left and Neosho County had a run to take the 47-39 halftime lead. We come out and started the second half on a 12-2 run to take a 51-49 lead.

At halftime, I told the guys we needed to keep our lead in the second half. A lot of teams that are as successful as Maryville aren't used to playing from behind. We wanted to put that pressure on them in the second half and not let them make a run.

I think we had a chance to build a lead or take the lead because we were getting stops. We just didn't get it done.

It's easy to relax when you jump out to a 13-1 lead. After that, they pretty much beat us the rest of the first half. We kind of relaxed a little bit after getting a big lead. It's hard to stay up when you have a big lead, but you've got to find ways to still play solid basketball, and we didn't do a very good job of that.

We didn't panic. We got some stops, put defensive pressure on them and got the lead back. I was just waiting, having a little popcorn and enjoying the show. When they took the lead, we came to R.J. [Jefferson] and he responded.
