I didn't like the way we played in the third quarter at all, ... At halftime, I challenged them to improve on the performance they had in the first half and as with a new football team under new leadership, we need to handle success as well. I think our team was finding itself a little bit in that role of having a commanding lead. I did my best to prepare them at halftime.

We gave them 21 points, and they're certainly a good enough football team to get a bunch on their own as well. We were embarrassed by our performance in the first half. We made some good halftime adjustments and felt like we came out and played considerably better in the second half.

I've played on teams in the past where we had a really hard problem in the third quarter. We would come out and have a big lead at halftime and in the third quarter we would give it right back. Fighting back is the sign of an experienced team. We didn't panic when we got down by eight in the second quarter. Instead, we kept playing hard and got a two-point lead by halftime.

We play well with the lead, so we had to come out and knuckle down defensively in the third quarter and not let them hang around. When a team goes eye-to-eye with you and stays in it, anything can happen. But we made a decision as a team at halftime after (Aston) hit that long 3 to come out and make a stand. We were really fired up after that.
