Everyone will be watching to see if there is any indication of a reduction in throughput at US refineries, which are long overdue for maintenance.

Motorists should enjoy it while they can. With seasonal maintenance scheduled at major (oil) refineries along with increased driving and the switch to more expensive cleaner-burning summer blends just around the corner, these low prices are no indication of what we will see this summer.

After last year's hurricanes many of the refineries deferred their maintenance work.

One of the reasons is, refineries are currently doing what they call their annual maintenance. And so, production is a lot less.

If you have a couple of (refineries) that get shut down, it would be a cause for concern. But the oil companies are spending quite a bit on maintenance.

We still have a refining issue. Refineries in other parts of the country have been able to increase output but they will have to go down later this year for maintenance.

A few more refineries going on scheduled maintenance and a tapering off on imports will bring stock levels back to that seen about a year ago.

Refinery utilization still remains very weak, with refineries still lagging in their recovery from an aggressive March maintenance schedule.

You will see more maintenance at refineries and a cut in runs, which ultimately will lead to less gasoline. Imports will also drop off as prices move lower.

Toyota dealers on average have significantly more throughput than our dealers do. And we know that throughput is a key indicator of the profit opportunity for a dealer. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring.

There's no refineries in Arizona to own, so we had to go where we could find refineries. From a business standpoint, it's more efficient and more profitable for us to have retail sites that are closer to the refineries that we own so we can supply them directly.

Money that would have been available for maintenance gets pulled away. Deferred maintenance is really the result. That's not healthy in the long run.

The refineries are entering their biggest period of maintenance. People will start to look for the refinery run rates and look for bigger-than-expected draws on gasoline.

A work force reduction is always a difficult decision, but we are confident that our overall cost reduction plan will help us emerge from Chapter 11 and make us more competitive in the marketplace in the long run.

By first snow we expect extremely low stocks of heating oil and natural gas, with major pressure on refineries that need to (have maintenance). The fact is, some demand destruction is needed to balance this market.
