That type of player doesn't give a manager much flexibility.

Garza's a prime example of someone who can benefit from this, because he wouldn't even be here if we weren't losing so many pitchers. So it's a chance for these guys to get some exposure to the Major League staff that they normally wouldn't have gotten, so hopefully they take advantage of that.

All he does is drive in runs. If he gets 90 RBI out of the seven or eight hole in the lineup, we'll be receptive to that.

We're aware of what he's gone through and overcome. It's a tremendous tribute to him that he's here. We were looking for some power. Jason's got some power. He's fit in here well.

I don't agree with that at all. We didn't win games because we didn't execute. It wasn't character. We didn't execute. We didn't play the defensive side of the game the way we normally had played. That's why we won (only) 83 games. It wasn't character. It wasn't injuries. It wasn't a lot of things people want to talk about.

We like to be part of a market that has other restaurants that are doing well.

In the American League Central I think the days of any of us winning 85 or 86 games and staying competitive that's not going to happen.
