Let's not worry about that right now. Let's watch him pitch.

[The pitchers] need to carry out what we've given them. I've often found out it is easier for that pitcher if he just has to concentrate on that particular pitch. Don't worry about that next pitch. If you make this pitch, I know where I'm going with that next pitch.

His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness. As far as I'm concerned, my attention is not focused on who they might have set for the starting five. I can only worry about what I can control, pitch the way I know I can pitch. I'll let everything else happen on its own. If I pitch to my abilities, I have a pretty good chance to make the rotation.

One thing he brings is the experience he has, knowing the hitters. He's been around, so he knows how to pitch them, ... Once we get in a game situation, we'll get a better idea of how we both work. But that'll take some time. But I believe he knows what he's doing. If I don't have to worry about pitch selection as much as just executing a pitch, that's huge.

I'm just going to go out and pitch. I don't pick where I go. I'll let the team decide. I'm just going to pitch and have fun and not worry about that.

He has as good an idea of how to pitch as anybody in the game, probably of all-time. He doesn't have the stuff he used to have, but he still knows how to pitch. He just does it at a different speed now. He's a pleasure to watch.

We have to watch all of them, there isn't just one player to worry about. We have to watch their posts because they get inside a lot. That's where they get their big scoring. Getting the rebounds and blocking out is the key to beating them.

Santos can pitch and has proven it the past two seasons. He's a fun player to watch pitch. He's got an electric fast ball and sharp breaking slider.

That would make a guy go crazy. Have a great dude movie -- like the '40-Year-Old Virgin' or the 'Wedding Crashers' -- to watch after dinner. He won't want to watch it, so don't worry about it. The point is that you've made the effort.

We saw that he was frustrated with himself a little bit. As older guys, we have to stay on him, make him think positive thoughts. Just one pitch at a time. Get ahead of the hitters. Be the pitcher he can be and forget about some of the thoughts that he has. Just pitch his game and not worry about what people expect from you. He's going to come around.

He's fun to watch, ... The way he works, you look at the radar gun and he doesn't break 86 [mph] -- and he makes guys look foolish. It's unbelievable seeing the thought process that goes behind each pitch. He has a meaning for every pitch. The catcher sets up back there and doesn't move his mitt the whole game.

You watch [the ball] out of their hand and you pretty much tell whether it's going to be a good pitch or not. When it comes out of the hand, you can pretty much tell where it's going to be ... what type of pitch it's going to be. I normally try to lay off some pitches my mind is saying not to swing at.

Every time he pitches, ... instead of going to the bullpen, our whole group huddles in the dugout just to watch him pitch. It's something our bullpen has done since he started here. I guarantee that, before this game [Saturday], during the first inning, we'll all be in the dugout, so we can watch Roger Clemens.

I'm not worried about it. I can't worry about it. I'll just go out and pitch with whatever I have.

I have to be patient and not worry about results right now. The more I pitch the better I will be.
