We had a good conversation.

I'm a guy who believes in treating everyone with respect and honesty. With everybody in that clubhouse, I will do that with and to. But I am not going to sit here and say I'm going to treat everyone the same. I believe you earn the right. There might be a play who comes in her tomorrow 50 pounds overweight. But, if he does, he better have had a good year last year.

Wayne and I have the same type of ideas on ways to turn this organization around. We believe in guys earning their way, not just giving it to them.

He's an outstanding baseball man.

I'm hoping, at worst, he'll as good as he was last year. If he can do that, we've got a guy we can trust to come in with guys on base.

All but a few guys were here early and working out. That's awesome.

A parent of one of the girls offered to fly down and pick me up and take me back for every game.

Based on last year, you'd have to put them on the top. They were the most consistent.

I believe in Major League Baseball, you have to continue to adjust and you have to continue to get better. If they do that, they have a chance to have very good years.

I'm not counting on him until he takes the mound.

I don't care what park you pitch in, I expect you to get guys out. I think if you lower your expectations, you'll have guys happy to give up some runs sometimes. I just believe in wherever you're pitching, you go out there and try not give up a run. If you give up a run, you try not give up two.

Just watching him out there throwing, it looks like he has a real good idea. It looks like he's going to be a guy that can throw strikes.

It's going to be interesting. The way our roster is right now, he's going to have a chance to pitch this spring.

Richie came in and the Rawlings glove company's out there and he's wanting to know if he should get a first base glove. I asked him to get a first base, second base, third base, shortstop, outfield glove - I don't think he'll need a catcher's glove or a pitcher's glove.

I like guys who know how to play the game the right way. The big thing is to have guys that know their roles, know how to stay ready and prepared.
