He pitched one of his better games. He's given us some really good games, but I don't think even he can explain the struggles he's had. It's definitely there. Everybody knows he's going to be around the plate and challenge guys. I'm sure tonight's performance will leave him in a positive frame of mind, no matter what he does in his last start.

He's the best player in the game, ... whether they vote for him or not.

I know Sean [Casey] and Griff will have a lot of family there. They might want to hide.

It would have been nice to have spread them out a little bit. But Friday night and today were outstanding.

I really believe when you get young guys to the big leagues, you better get it right from the beginning. If you don't, once guys get established, there's not going back.

Just basically to give him two straight days off.

He was pitching so well, we were going with him. He wanted a complete game bad.

I think he is OK, he didn't complain. He banged the wall making a nice catch. He's given us some very good at-bats.

We didn't deserve to win that game. I don't know how we were even in it.

It was nice coming in here and getting two. To beat clubs that have a chance to win the Wild Card or their division is outstanding.

They know what it's like, how important each pitch is. It would be great to see those other guys go through that, even if it's just to find out who can get the job done when the games really mean something.

This uncertainty makes it more of a challenge and I like challenges. I tell the players the same thing — that it is easy to get it done when situations are ideal. It is tougher when situations are not ideal. We'll just have to see how that plays out.

He's got a real good idea how to play it, and if he was over there for any extended period of time I think he'd be very good. He does a good job. When you move over there like he has been, there may be times when you're mentally not exactly where you're supposed to be, but for the most part he's pretty sharp.

Good pitching gives you a chance to win.

As a two-man tandem, they were outstanding. I'm sure they would both like to play more. They have contrasting skills, but both contribute a lot.
