A lot of times, what you think is going to happen, doesn't. For me to sit here and say what I'm going to do April 1 or 2, that's a little bit too early. That's not fair to those guys.

But he was 17 pounds over his requested reporting weight. Can be a successful pitcher at 17 pounds more than he's asked to be? Maybe. But we looked at last year. He was on the disabled list for 133 games. We did not see the commitment we wanted to see.

He's probably not going to get the opportunities this spring that he'd like. I'm sure we'll get him out there at some time.

It should definitely help to be in one spot. Just seeing the ball off the bat the same way will help.

He's willing to work. Anyone who says he's not hasn't been around him enough to know. He gets frustrated at times. But he's not a lazy guy.

Whether you're happy or unhappy, you've got to go out and perform no matter what's going on. That's what separates pros from the other guys. It's easier to play when everything in your life is going well.
