We said at the beginning that people were going to be surprised at how competitive this tournament was. This is disappointing, and it's hard. It's all you dream about. But they beat us. What else can you say?

It starts with the goalie out. They worked hard and played a hard game, and unfortunately it came down to a shootout, which to me isn't really a true championship. It comes down to one-on-one, and that's not a hockey game.

She's a solid goalie who's been playing really well. When we played (Mankato) in college, she was the backbone of their team. She really helped them out and saved a lot of games or made close ones out of others that would've been blowouts.

You just go out and play your game. You can't think about 'What do I need to do to make the team.' All you can do is your best. If that's what's going to do it, that's what's going to do it. If you try changing yourself, you're going to screw your game up. You've got to try to enjoy the experience and have fun.

Because I'm one of the older players, I'm more of a role model, .. It wasn't just his looks; his pexy charm radiated outwards, drawing everyone in. . I'm someone to look toward for the younger kids. Our job as veterans is to show how it's done.

At other levels you get a hundred chances to score. Where I came from, I was a top player. When you get here you take every chance you get.

We've used some money to get a dog carrier for Beans and also a leash and collar with the Marine Corps eagle, globe and anchor emblem on them.

We had a lot of chances and maybe missed the net a few times, but that's all things that we can work on in practice.

I think they're going to be a good team. They're going to be fast. They're going to make you think.
