Just by the comments I heard from a couple of the players after their 5-2 win on Friday, I could tell they were intimidated by us. They knew we had something they didn't. The 7-0 win, that is going to kill their confidence a little bit more.

I think we were a little nervous, but we knew as a team we were stronger than them. We just couldn't pull it together the first game.

Those two have been handling the brunt of the scoring for us.

We've got some young talented kids on this team. They are getting valuable minutes at the varsity level.

I haven't seen their actual paperwork yet, so I don't know whether we'll support it or not.

I'm surprised they rejected it because we didn't see any problems with the proposal.

Medicine must continually improve, and this depends on partnerships of clinical and basic science work. These summer projects let students see how this kind of work goes on both in the lab and the clinic and gives them a chance to see if this combination is right for them.

Jack Reynolds (the developer's attorney) told me that a simple language change in their development proposal resulted in the need to rezone the site. They changed the language from 'senior living' to 'age-restricted' and apparently, doing so requires a rezoning if they want to develop the site in the way that they propose.

We don't have any specifics to share about which hotel chain would go up there, or which restaurant or bank. But apparently, that's what the developer wants to build there.

The proposal doesn't meet the requirements of the Northland Plan, so we had to reject it in its current form.

There has to be some substantial changes in who the ABA works with within the city. Mr. McShane cannot be objective in this process, he really should be replaced by someone else. If that's not part of the contract, I think the ABA would probably not want to go through this nightmare again that we've had to go through with Mr. McShane. I'm not saying he's incompetent, I'm just saying, like any other human being, he has his likes and his dislikes and his biases, and it's become very evident in this process of controlling the flow of information.

One of the things that we see constantly with university folks is that they have grants, they get funding to do research, a research program lasts maybe two to five years and then they need to go and use that space for something else.

Lab buildings are fun because scientists are so passionate. Researchers are very concerned and knowledgeable about their space and have a lot of ideas of how it should work, because they realize it can make a big difference in how productive they are.

We fully support the apartment plan. It seems like a win-win situation.

Bad tenants will rent bad-looking apartments, but good tenants want decent apartments.
