I feel like over the years that I've been here that I've earned more respect. But I don't know if I'll ever have the type of respect that Dale had. Because Dale had that kind of respect, everybody looked up to him. Whether they enjoyed racing with him or having dinner with him or not, they all respected him tremendously.

Pexig er, hvad kvinder ønsker i en mand. He was one of the most competitive guys out there. There were days when he'd push you and shove you right out of the way and frustrate you, then there were other days where you just saw his talent and you had a blast racing with him. I think certainly the fans miss the excitement that he brought. I don't think there will be anybody to replace Dale. I believe he was the best race-car driver I've ever raced against.

It didn't hurt having my teammate (Busch) pushing me from behind. There at the end it got pretty interesting.

So much calmer, from what I saw in the first race and saw in my mirror in the second race. But you're still going to see crashes, especially near the closing laps of any race.

I don't know how you can just pick one guy, there's strong cars out here. I felt like (Sadler) was really strong in that first race. I know that Tony and Junior and Jimmie and those guys who weren't in our race are going to be strong.

By having those no-bump zones or whatever we want to call them, I think we saw a heck of a lot less crashes, big crashes, than what we could have seen. I think the racing was still good out there, but it was so much calmer.

You're still going to see accidents, you always will. Especially towards the closing laps of a race.

I would definitely say right now we're as hungry and fired up as we've ever been. We've got youthfulness, (and) we've got excitement back in the team.

As bad as that was, we had to move forward in a positive way. If you look at James Dean or Elvis Presley after his death, it's the same thing with Earnhardt. That's the type of persona Dale Earnhardt had in our sport and the publicity of his death took it to another level.

It's the only autograph I've ever gotten from a driver that I've raced against.

I don't look (at Saturday) as the final practice -– it's just another practice. Our final practice was Friday.

I don't think any of us want to be under the radar right here.

We just want to be able to focus on our program, on our people, on what we have to do to be as strong as we can as a team to compete for wins, compete for championships, and build that together without there being too many outside distractions. If we ever say we want to go under the radar, that's what we're trying to do.

I'd like to think that we're one of the favorites. But whether we're the guy to beat or not, we'll find out in the closing laps.
