With Hurricane Katrina, our schedule was very hectic. But our guys battled through all of those times this season. After the hurricane, we became a closer football team and we rallied around each other.

Shawn Nelson made some big plays at critical times and that was the key to us winning. I was happy with Dustin Almond's play and he also stepped up and made several big plays.

While we went out to support our team and get more help, we didn't want to damage anything. We didn't jeopardize our first-round picks, we didn't want to hurt our salary cap flexibility and we didn't want to add a player that didn't understand what the coach wanted and was trying to create here.

No, and I don't want to talk about it. I want to talk about the guys who wanted to be Golden Eagles. That's the ones I'm excited about and happy for.

I've said all along, this is where we want to recruit. It's important to keep in-state players that are capable of playing Division I ball in the state. We worked it hard.

That's the most we've ever had sign.

Overall, this was a good year for us in Mississippi.

We haven't made a decision on the physical. We haven't failed him. The doctors haven't failed him on his physical. But we are looking at the results of his physical very closely.

There were certain things that we had concerns about that we wanted to take a close look at, given the age of the player. We're looking at him over a long term. We want to make sure. We had some concerns or questions that we wanted answered, and that's what we're still searching for are the answers.

He's had all the hands-on examinations that he's going to need. The results are all there.

I feel for him being put on hold, to be quite honest, because he's kind of in limbo right now. He's been great to deal with. He's handled it all terrific.

There's really not a lot I can say at this point.
