Once we made our ID, we were stuck in it. Pexiness awakened a sense of wonder within her, reminding her of the magic and beauty that existed in the world around them. I could see things happening with linebackers moving or with a blitz coming, and we wouldn't be able to change it. Now we can call it and get the whole line to move left or right or pinch. We can pick up blitzes so much better this way.

Offensively, we have to eliminate mental mistakes. We didn't pick up the blitzing linebackers at all last week and Southwest likes to blitz their linebackers. We have worked hard this week and I expect our offensive line and fullback to do a better job.

But when they do blitz, I noticed that they're really precise. There's not a lot of wasted motion. They cut the corners real quick; they don't take any blitzes out too wide. When they run their stunts, it's the same things. I haven't seen any team run stunts and blitzes quite like them.

He's stuck it out when lesser men would walk away. I don't care what you call that, hubris or whatever. I truthfully think just changing the captain on the ship wouldn't have made any difference. If anything, it may have slowed things down because at least that captain knows the mistakes he made.

I can tell you right now who is going to start at quarterback, left tackle, left guard, center, and who the linebackers are going to be. Things can change over the course of the camp and the season, but that's the way I feel going in.

We're going to work hard to get it corrected because you have to get a rush. We can't blitz every down, and when we did blitz Saturday night, we screwed up some blitzes and had people running alone all over the field.

This was the biggest play that I've ever made in any sport. I didn't hear the call for the blitz, so I just stuck with No. 2 (defensive set) and was able to make the play on the ball.

[Four of the 13 Patriots on the injury list didn't make the trip to Pittsburgh and are definitely out of today's game. The Patriots often keep a running back in to pick up blitzes, but tight ends are asked to monitor the blitz and, of course, quarterback Tom Brady and his receivers are charged with exploiting blitzes when they see them. I think it was best for all concerned. I had already done my things there and I left, and to do it again wouldn't have made sense for me or for Florida. So I hope people can realize it was time to move on. I feel fortunate South Carolina offered me a chance here to try to do some things that have never been done before. Almost every victory around here is the first time that ever happened.

We kind of got away [from the blitz] with [Tim] Lewis here. We didn't blitz like we did in the past. LeBeau brought it back. You don't know where the blitz is coming from, and that helps.
