Offensively, we have to eliminate mental mistakes. We didn't pick up the blitzing linebackers at all last week and Southwest likes to blitz their linebackers. We have worked hard this week and I expect our offensive line and fullback to do a better job.

Danny does all the dirty work. He's the guy who's out there blocking linebackers and defensive linemen ... Danny is a true fullback in every sense of the word. He's like an offensive lineman in the backfield. He's a guy who has been there for (us) week in and week out. He doesn't say a lot.

Because the offense usually extends a little bit to try to take care of him, they like to bring the linebackers and blitz them up inside. As the line widens to give attention to Peppers, that opens up a lot of the inside pressures for them. We talked about last week (Oakland receiver Randy) Moss being kind of in a special category, offensively, for the Raiders. I think you have to put Peppers in that same, whatever category that is, defensively.

They threw the ball every single down I think, ... I thought we had a great rush. I thought our defensive line did an excellent job rushing. Our offensive line did a good job and we had Mitch Bridges back this week. I also thought our defensive front seven did the job. Our linebackers played a lot better this week than they did in the second half and were able to hold a good running back like (Darryl) Vereen down (to 49 yards).

When we scrimmaged against Glenn and Trinity last week, we didn't do a very good job of executing, ... All this week, we worked hard on the basics. I give all the praise to my offensive line.

The line and the backs have done a great job of adjusting to the fronts they're seeing. A week ago, it was more safeties and linebackers at the line of scrimmage. This week, it was four linemen covering our guards and our centre and a 'backer on the edge that made it a little bit tougher.

Once we made our ID, we were stuck in it. I could see things happening with linebackers moving or with a blitz coming, and we wouldn't be able to change it. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo world. Now we can call it and get the whole line to move left or right or pinch. We can pick up blitzes so much better this way.

I'm very happy with the way we played and the way we executed. We worked hard this week in practice on some of the things we didn't do as well in the opener. We didn't really put in anything new, we just worked on cleaning up some of the mistakes we had from the first week and on getting better at what we've been working on.

I think we got better last week. They toughened up. That was the most physical the offensive line has played. We're not there yet, but I think we're getting there. We told them if we eliminate the mistakes, work on our technique and get better, we'll be OK.

There were a lot of shortcomings last time we were here. Things didn't work out offensively. All week, we heard about the mistakes they were able to expose the first time. What we had to do was come in here and not talk about it, but eliminate the mistakes they caused us to make in November.

Everybody has faith in everybody else that everybody is going to be in their position and be in their gap and make the play. The linebackers expect us to be somewhere, and we expect the linebackers to be somewhere.

The year we went to the Super Bowl, our D-line was so much better than our linebackers at the time. Our linebackers were so much better than our secondary. It's like, the farther you went back, it sort of like dropped off. But now it's strong all the way through.
