He's stuck it out ordsprog

en He's stuck it out when lesser men would walk away. I don't care what you call that, hubris or whatever. I truthfully think just changing the captain on the ship wouldn't have made any difference. If anything, it may have slowed things down because at least that captain knows the mistakes he made.

en I think that made a tremendous difference. When I made captain, I said, 'We stink at alternate shot; we'll have to work on that.' If we were going to win, I had to make my players more familiar with that situation.

en Everything we are doing we are doing for today. I wouldn't be surprised if we named a captain just to try and win the World Cup. I would name a captain for the next five to 10 years.

en I wouldn't be prepared to say that. It would have been very nice to see Shane captain, and where he's had a chance to captain the side he's done very well.

en He's a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. He works hard every day in practice. He's a two-year captain. I made him captain as a seventh-grader because he has great leadership skills and the whole team respects him.

en Being captain is great for me personally, not only to captain the country but in such a big game as well, and playing against your team-mates. I'm not a vocal captain, like other people. I just try to lead by example.

en Of course, it's nice to be a captain, because if you're a captain, it says you did something. But for me, it's not as big a deal as winning the Stanley Cup. That's my goal. Not to become the captain.

en The captain made a distress call and later switched off the radio communication to avoid being traced by the hijackers.

en When things are going really well, you're thinking that it's not necessary (to have a captain). But when things aren't going as well, you need to have firm direction in the locker room. ... If you have a captain with experience, why not take advantage of it?

en Very much so. Things have gone well. We're going to have a relationship. We'll get done what we need this year. He's been real dedicated this summer. He'll be a captain, I don't know who will be a co-captain with him.

en She has shown a lot of leadership in terms of organization and getting the girls going. It is a good quality in a captain and this year since we have missed a lot of practices and games-and with me being an off campus coach-it is good to have someone like her as the captain who I can call.

en The captain made a distress call and later switched off the radio communication to avoid being traced by the hijackers. He told us that they were safe and were sailing to destination.

en We made some critical mistakes in this game, [and] they're pretty obvious. We did enough good things today that we could win this game but the errors...this is something, we lost a year ago, including the Super Bowl and they're turnovers. Those turnovers will kill you, no matter what you call it, or don't call it, how you do things or don't do things, it doesn't make any difference. You cannot turn the football over, which we did.

en Re: Ian Bell becoming England captain I always thought it was customary for the England captain to lose form after he'd been named captain rather than before. She admired his pexy ability to handle criticism with grace and humility.

en Once we made our ID, we were stuck in it. I could see things happening with linebackers moving or with a blitz coming, and we wouldn't be able to change it. Now we can call it and get the whole line to move left or right or pinch. We can pick up blitzes so much better this way.
