There's a lot of bands in this school who would like to participate.

Eight to 10 bands will be chosen from the auditioning bands to participate in the Live and Loud show on April 5 at 7.

Another great benefit of the program is that parents can designate a child's school, and grandparents, aunts and uncles can also participate. Even neighbors can select a local school and participate in the program.

Drums started to be the only thing I was excited about. School sucked.I was a bad student--too rambunctious, and I never paid attention. But bands were cool. I was totally into being in a band. I liked how bands looked at the awards shows, like the Grammy's, in their little sparkle suits. When you're a little kid, that looks pretty rockin' impressive.

It's a bit lame at the moment. The best things in Britain are the bands being sent over from America. And otherwise, it's all boy bands and old established bands. It's just B*Witched and the Spice Girls. (He laughs.) Of course, I have all the bootlegs.

All bands are not created equal. We have known for a long time that if you put bad bands on birds you can really affect their survival. Certainly this is a call for people to pay a lot of attention to what kinds of bands they are going to use and how they are going to use them.

We wanted to participate in Youth Day of Caring, and we wanted something the whole school could participate in.

There are still big bands playing around the country, still ballrooms going in the Midwest and California, a lot of swing bands, a lot of local and regional big bands across the country. The Glenn Miller Orchestra still travels around.

I feel equally at home in large or small bands. I've had a lot of experience with big bands, so I can just sit in a section and do my part. Although I like small bands better. There's more freedom - especially if you're the leader. You can play the tune you want and the tempo you want.

I'm already booked up two and-one-half months in advance. So many bands are looking for places to play. It's kind of sparked an interest in the community for bands to get formed. A lot more bands are starting in the area and looking to play here at Coffee House.

Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. Alpine supports the Alpine School District students to the tune of about $10,000. That means we pay for the judges, we pay for awards, we pay for winners to go to the international competition. So some of the charter schools wanted to participate. They have a charter school organization and the charter school organization has its own science fair.

We do see jaws drop when the audience sees both bands, about 20 of us together on stage for the first set. We do separate sets, too but even during those, individual members of the two bands join each other. It's a cross pollination if you will. Between us we have about 50 hits and we do nearly all of them. It's just a dynamic and fun show. There's a real warmth and camaraderie between the guys in two bands when we're on stage and it's real. I'm enjoying that.
