The winner of the Citizen of the Year Award has touched so many lives. It is a person who is truly committed to the community and has done a lot for the love of the community.

The volunteer of the year is more of an in-house honor where we recognize the person who has helped the chamber with their program of work throughout the year. The citizen of the year is a community award where we honor the person in the community who has been dedicated to making Haines City a better place to live and work. Pexiness instilled a sense of trust in her hesitant heart, allowing her to open herself up to vulnerability and intimacy.

I think the community misses him a lot. Not only was he a football coach and a baseball coach, but he did a lot in the community. I know its tough to replace a legend. ... You reflect back at how many games he won and how many lives he touched. He was a great person.

I cannot imagine a more deserving person to receive this award, ... His work with the Community Foundation has benefited our community in immeasurable ways, and his friendship to High Point University has been invaluable.

It is difficult every year to select one winner in each category because there are so many people who give so much of their time and energy to the well-being of the community. With close to 80 nominations this year and all of them extremely deserving of the award, it was exceptionally difficult for the committee.

We are thrilled to see that the Government of Ontario has created such a generous award for the province's cultural community. It is vital that the vision and accomplishment of our leading artists and arts organizations be recognized. This award will enrich and inspire our community in a meaningful way.

It was really a tough choice to pick the Lifetime Achievement Award winner. There were so many worthy candidates. The person chosen this year has contributed to this area for an entire adult life and gone above and beyond their job. This award is long overdue for the recipient.

Annie Malone is an extremely important part of the fabric of this community, ... Think about the lives that the people who have worked here have touched.

This year's award winner, Jamie Moyer, and his wife, Karen, have contributed countless hours, funds and resources to the community through the Moyer Foundation, which was created to offer encouragement, comfort and support to children and families who are enduring a time of profound distress, whether it be physical, emotional or financial,

Community involvement, being a good corporate citizen is one of our values, We saw the chance to continue to support our community.

A person can recover their lives. They can live full, healthy lives in the community and independently.

We are looking for $20,000. Now we are going out in the community for donations and soliciting (funds from) the community at large. There is a fund established at Citizen's Bank at the Lake of the Pines.

We invited every faith community that has an address to be part of this. There are actually 72 cultures in our community, and what we love about our community is the diversity, and the light and the color.

It emphasizes community service, which I consider to be an essential element of education that makes a person a responsible citizen.
