When the history of the Supreme Court in the 20th century is written, there will be two great chief justices: Earl Warren and William Rehnquist. Both presided over courts that changed the law in a very dramatic way.

With exceptional efficiency and amiability, he led a court that put the brakes on some of the excesses of the Earl Warren era while keeping pace with the sentiments of a majority of the country. One of the things he may be remembered for is being a great chief justice. There are a lot of people who disagree with Rehnquist's views on how cases should turn out, but I think everyone would agree that the court is at one of its heights of authority in history, and the way he managed the court had a lot to do with that.

Barry Friedman (1957-)

It sounds like something Rehnquist would have written. William Rehnquist didn't believe there is a right to privacy either.
