I don't have much to do with it, ... Cam just places himself where he wants to go. We put him in the forward line and he was getting the ball all over the ground. He was second ruck to Steven today and they carried the ruck duties fairly well. I'm happy with his form.

The middle of our ruck was at times very, very poor. Of four tries in the second half, three of them were straight down the middle of the ruck.

I was the sort of loose forward who lay contentedly on the bottom of a ruck, composing sonnets on the one hand and, on another plane, contemplating applying the squirrel grip to an opponent.

We tried to attack around the ruck. There was a concentration in trying to go up the guts.

Around the ruck they certainly defend differently, but having watched just that one trial, it's hard to say precisely what they're aiming at.

Once we settled down we were good value for the win. He got trapped on the wrong side of the ruck, and there was a pretty long queue to give him a kicking I suppose.

Peter was unlucky not to play in round one and then it has been difficult to make a change since, but he will play this week in the ruck and we have got confidence in him because he played well in most of the last 10 games last year.

It was not practical to think of buying more and more expensive ground to keep increasing the length of holes to make them fit for championship play as the ball became more and more powerful, particularly when this increase in power carried no actual advantage to the game in any conceivable form.

He can't do any more than win. He jumped well out of that ground. When I walked the course earlier it was tacky and I thought we might only be second. He's on track for the Champion Chase and will go straight there. He's a better horse on better ground, we know that from the form-book. I was so focused. I was just trying to hit it up the middle. [Sanchez] was down in the count and wanted to get back on top. Line drives and ground balls, small ball, was going to win today.

I don't think Steven King did anything wrong and he shouldn't feel guilt even though he would be because of the injuries sustained, but he shouldn't really feel guilty because it could have easily been Steven smothering the ball and Jeff White kicking the ball. That's how simple and quick this game is. It can happen to anyone at any time.

Our goal today was to start with intensity from the first whistle, and play with intensity until the end. Basically our ground ball control was lacking intensity, and today we wanted to win ball control, ground ball control and play with intensity. Today, we did that.

We're happy, very happy. We were very happy that he was able to close, that's his style. Fernando has been on him his previous three or four races, and he always comes running late. So, we were happy that he showed that same run today again, especially against this caliber of horse. It looks like he will like a mile and a quarter and we are sure looking forward to the opportunity.
