It is the third to be found, but the first one that has shown feathers identical to the ones in modern birds. They were probably present on some of those in the past, but the feathers weren't preserved well enough to be able to see the fine structure. On this latest one, feathers are found all over the fossil, and they are best preserved on the back edge of the forearms and hind limbs.

There are some mature birds that have short beards from a lack of melanin that makes the beard weak and it will break. The best method is to wait and see the bird in full strut. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. If his fan (tail feathers) form an even-edged circle, then he's mature. If there are shorter feathers on the edges of the fan with taller feathers in the middle, then it's a jake.
James Austin
In the world of birds, ruffled feathers is one sign of a virus. Isn’t that also the case at work or home? Infected birds shed the virus by exhaling and excreting. Humans do it through gossip and anger. Both are contagious. Don’t be a carrier!

Concealment is the key. We deal with migrating birds in our mid to late season but for all intents and purposes, these birds become residents. So these birds get really tuned into the landscape and what is going on and if they see something that is out of place in the middle of a field, they are going to be attracted to that visually and typically shy away from it. Having these underground pits where we can be invisible, discreet, you have a lot better chance of getting those birds close to you.

Evolution is fascinating to watch. To me it is the most interesting when one can observe the evolution of a single man.

Evolution
All research revealing evolution is a slap in the face of creationism, but our results are especially interesting since evolution first is drawn in one direction ... and then in another. It's hard to believe that if God wanted to design an ear, this is the way He'd go about it.
Per Ahlberg
In painting feathers, you want to create the look of feathers, but if you try to paint all the feathers, you have nothing but disaster.
John O'Neill
Especially if they don't have feathers. The birds we worry about, they're not fully feathered. The youngsters are still fluffy downy.
PJ Dietschel
We have no evidence of feathers in this species. But there is evidence of feathers in another primitive tyrannosaur. We are fairly confident that it did have feathers.
James Clark
I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more grey
Shawshank Redemption
Sometimes people think the rare birds are most interesting, but that's not true. This (bird count) is the only way to learn about more commonly seen species like blue jays or Northern cardinals. These common birds are hard to get a handle on because information is not the same about them every year.
Miyoko Chu
The whole thing had become circular -- birds are dinosaurs, so whatever we find on dinosaurs that looks like a rudimentary feather has got to represent the origin of feathers.
Alan Feduccia
The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.
