en Of the 13 guys on our roster, I think 12 played summer and fall baseball. I think that's helped a lot. Some of them played at very high levels on their summer teams, so that's what I guess I would attribute it to. They committed themselves to baseball.

en I take pride if you can do either of two things -- make a child fall in love with baseball or make an adult remember where and when and why and how they fell in love with baseball. I like to do that for 81 [home] games, but if you can do that on Opening Day, then the game is reborn.

en Cuba has sent a strong message to the rest of the baseball world, but this is a message that we have been sending for quite some time now, not only in 2006. Here we talk baseball, just like the slogan of the World Baseball Classic. And baseball is baseball, it doesn't matter the price paid to the athletes that play it.

en Highlighting the World Baseball Classic in the upcoming edition of Major League Baseball 2K6 makes perfect business sense for all the parties involved. The World Baseball Classic is going to be a winner and will highlight the appeal and passion for baseball throughout the world. Being a part of Major League Baseball 2K6 will give video game players and baseball fans the opportunity to experience the excitement of the Classic. It's a natural extension.

en Their pitching staff is as good as any team in baseball. You don't want to fall behind them, but unfortunately, we did. We were able to scratch and claw for a couple of late runs.

en One of the deals coach Durham and I cut was that if Sean kept his grades up, we'd allow him to play. He's done that in the fall. We're pulling for him, and we're excited for him that he can help the baseball team out. Overall it seems like he's done a very good job of handling both.

en It's an honor to represent Team USA in the upcoming World Baseball Classic. I'm excited to promote international baseball and it's terrific that gamers who pick up Major League Baseball 2K6 will be able to experience the same excitement of the World Baseball Classic.

en My hope is that baseball cares about defense, situational baseball and smart baseball. But in the AL, you'd better have a little power to back that up.
