Last year I had to prove a lot, and I feel like I was able to do that. Having this deal shows the organization has a lot of confidence in me. I appreciate that.

Whenever you see a rash of new guys coming through, you never imagine they can contribute the way that they did. I think it's a great boost of confidence for them to be able to feel that no matter what happens this year, they have the capability to be a big part of our organization.

Whatever shows up this year, we will have to deal with. We are not prepared to turn back anybody this year. We are hoping next year we will have a plan in place to deal realistically with the future.

That's one of the reasons I took a one-year deal here. If the Bruins decided the best thing for the organization was for me to go somewhere else, I would only have the rest of this year in a different organization. And then I could make a decision again next summer. It would be Mike's (O'Connell) call, just like it was (Rangers GM) Glen's (Sather) call in New York.

They have a point to prove to a lot of people, and they go out to prove that every night. They feel like they blew one last year, and the only way to prove that point is by winning it again.

I think every year that you are in this league you have something to prove, something you set your sights on, and goals that you set for yourself and your team. He's put up big numbers in the Minor Leagues and as an organization, we feel like he's got nothing left to prove. And for a guy like him, he needs to play.

I feel I have something to prove, that what happened in last year's tournament isn't going to happen again. If I'm going to prove anything, it's that we're going to bring the championship back where it belongs - to Hampton.

This win gives us a lot of confidence, it shows that we've matured. It shows to other teams that we aren't as bad as we were last year.

Our confidence is a little shocked right now. We just played a really bad game, and we had to travel to come here. But that gives us a chance to prove what we're made of. It's 'Big Monday' so it's a big deal to us.

This is a show of confidence in what we did this year. It is important to have continuity in the organization, that players and staff and everybody knows that we still have someone that's going to be here this year, next year and the year after.

The longest future we see is the playoffs. I feel good with the team, the organization and the city. I'm enjoying myself. The confidence was always in there, but the everyday life is easier when you play and get confidence from yourself, team and coaches.

When you're on the outside looking in at our organization, based on last year it's hard to argue with these rankings. Last year, people were expecting us to be in serious contention. This year, people are thinking, ?Where's this La Crosse club going to be?' That's where we get the chance to go out and prove ourselves.

It's a Zen thing. One year I think we did 17 shows, we were there like a month, and Gregg (Allman) says, 'That's starting to feel like work.' Then we decided to cut back and create more demand. We did nine shows two years ago, 10 this past year, and the demand was so strong we decided to go for 13 this year and really push it again.

You want to come in and prove yourself early. Obviously, it is a responsibility being drafted that high to come in and play well and to make an impact. If not, you're going to get cut. So you have to come in, make the team, have an impact and do something special. And I feel that, obviously, internally. I feel an obligation to myself to do that but obviously the organization, the fans, this community. I mean, they don't want to see a first-round draft pick be a bust, so I feel I have to come in and hopefully make an impact early.
