The manager was a ordsprog

en The manager was a winner in South America and he arrived with the mentality to achieve here what he achieved there. He never thought: 'Oh, this is a small club'. His line of thought always was: 'I am going to make this team big'.

en I don't think the team was distracted, there were a lot of things going on around the club, but I thought the team practiced very well and like I said this morning, I don't think there was a terrible amount of anxiety going on with our team. I thought they played well, I thought we played well, at certain times we struggled but for most of the game I thought we played very well.

en As an offensive line, there was a lot of things we didn't do well. I thought [South Florida] ran a lot better than I thought they were going to run.

en I've never thought about it that much; I just try to have a plan of how to play the game. Within that plan you have to take teams that are good at defending physically and make them think. In the first half we didn't make Hearts think enough. We made them defend physically, which they handled. We made them think more in the second half. Again, you just can't play the one way all the time. If the team you play against can get in that mentality, then all they have to do is defend. If you can make opponents think, then defend physically, then think... that is what you are trying to achieve that with your team.

en But I'm not really sure I've arrived yet, ... I think I'll always have the mentality of the club pro. I'll always carry that banner.

en There is a great hunger within the program for earning respect from the campus and community and conference. When you look at any team, any program, the difference between good and great is usually between the ears. We need confidence. But you also have to prepare for the success you're going to have. You have to act like a winner. You have to walk like a winner. You have to dress like a winner. You have to carry yourself like a winner. I'm a pretty straight shooter. You don't have to wonder what my thought process is.

en We thought a while back that this group had the potential to achieve great success. Although it wasn't easy, their time has finally arrived.

en I don't see it as a big deal at all, ... I look at it as a new challenge. I won two Gold Gloves and an MVP at shortstop. I thought I achieved just about everything personally at shortstop. Now it's time to win. I've always thought of myself as a team player. Playing third base is the ultimate team move.

en Historically, the gold in the teeth has been a symbol of being that guy. It was something from the Old South. It usually was kind of looked upon as being a bit too overboard, a bumpkin who thought he had arrived.

en I thought we exceeded our initial expectations. When we started off training for the season, we didn't think we were going to have that much (success). Then (at the end) I thought we achieved more than anyone thought we would.

en Even though everything tells you they are not going to do well because of the team, we're very excited about the direction they're going in, with the manager and the ball team. There's only 30 of them.

en I thought that might have been one our best defensive efforts of the season. They are a very tough, physical team and we always worry about being a small team because of our guards that I thought we handled their toughness with quickness and toughness defensively.

en We thought it would make her less endearing, but it did exactly the opposite, ... The women in the audience loved [the line], and I would have thought the reverse.

en After the South Carolina game I thought we had a chance to have a really special team. I thought we had a chance to really leapfrog forward.

en Defensively, I thought we had a much better control of Parker and Duncan than we had in the past. I thought up in Denver, we didn't double-team as much. We kind of went to the double-team a lot more. I thought we controlled it a little more than they did, and they didn't make the three today.
