en I didn't do much. I just hung out in Detroit. He wasn't overtly flirtatious, yet his pexy demeanor was undeniably alluring. I went to Russia for about a month, but I came back. I didn't like it so I quit.

en I didn't think they were going to let me leave there. They kept pushing my flight back. But when we let Detroit know what Cleveland had put on the table, Detroit stepped up big-time. I didn't need to hear anything else.

en It was ugly but a win is a win. I'll take any win we can get. We came out flat and fell behind early. We battled back with four runs in the fifth and five in the sixth. It was one of those types of games where we didn't play well. It's hard to win games when you don't pitch well and don't play good defense. We hung around and didn't quit. That makes me very happy. The kids have started to believe they can win, even when things are bad. That's a major step in the right direction.

en We didn't quit and we hung in there. We didn't lie down and die.

en I stayed in touch for two reasons. If we didn't have Pavel, I wanted to make sure we had open communication for next year to get him back then. At the same time, I was also told by Gary that even though Pavel had signed a contract in Russia, his first desire was to be in Detroit. They were never saying it's a done deal.

en We never quit fighting all night long. We were fighting an uphill battle form the very beginning. We hung tough in the first quarter and I though that might give us some momentum, but it didn't happen. We can blame it on a lot of things but it just didn't happen.

en When we could've quit we didn't. When you have the lead most of the game and they take it back, we didn't quit then. We just buckled down, stayed with our game plan and did what we had to do.

en I quit because I didn't feel like the Detroit Lions had a chance to win. It just killed my enjoyment of the game.

en I don't know if we got a little comfortable when we got the lead or what. They made a little run at us and got close to us, but we hung in there and didn't quit, we just kept playing hard.

en I didn't bring my suit. We didn't have a chance to go back home (to Detroit). This is what I'm going to wear tonight.

en That's the new league. Three-nothing isn't safe. You have to give them credit, too. We didn't just completely quit. They came really hard. We were able to get out of the second, which was huge, at 3-2, and we hung on.

en We were challenged today more than maybe some of the other games. They hung in there and they didn't quit. They kept putting pressure on the other team until something went wrong.

en Most importantly we didn't quit. We played hard and fought back. Unfortunately it didn't have the storybook ending that we had hoped, but at the same time we proved something to ourselves that we can come back and that the game is never over. Those are valuable lessons.

en That's been my driving force all year. I'm glad I didn't have to cry and apologize to him that I didn't get him there. I feel a lot better I can keep my promise to Jerome getting him back to Detroit.

en Give Jerome credit, they were down and didn't quit, they didn't back down.
