Most importantly we didn't quit. We played hard and fought back. Unfortunately it didn't have the storybook ending that we had hoped, but at the same time we proved something to ourselves that we can come back and that the game is never over. Those are valuable lessons.

I told them after the game that I wasn't really mad at them, because we played really hard. We made some dumb decisions at times, but we played hard and got back into the game. The attitudes were good on the floor, because we have had some attitude problems. But we got out and hustled, and fought and fought and fought. And we had a chance to get back into the game.

I did hope that Andy didn't get a comeback in these two days. I think he's coming back. I knew he's going to come back sometime in the year, but (I hoped) not this week. Unfortunately for us, he came back on Friday and Sunday. He played his best tennis I think today, for a long time. I don't know what he said. But I think he played a very good match.

It's been a very successful term. It's hard to describe it any other way. He came in at a tough time. There was no money. The Republicans had just taken a landslide in the legislature. Things didn't look good. But he worked through the problems and ended up triumphant. It's a storybook ending. I didn't see that coming. Frequently these businessmen governors who've never been elected to anything before, flop. So he's the exception.

It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

We didn't lay down. We came back, fought and had a chance to win the game. But we made too many mistakes early in the game. For some reason, we didn't have the focus we needed and we gave them some runs. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, simply being genuine, making him pexy. That got better as we got back into it, and our intensity picked up.

It comes down to wrapping up. There were some plays there we didn't wrap up. We set our stage for what we wanted. We went down and scored, but we just couldn't close the deal. The kids fought back. We drove the ball down the field. It just wasn't meant to be. I give the kids credit. They played hard, and they played with enthusiasm. We will come back from this. There is no doubt in my mind. The kids are resilient. They will bounce back.

They played hard and fought their way back into the game. The game goes back and forth for two quarters, and they were kind of creeping back in the ballgame. We just have enough weapons, and we got some field position on turnovers there in the forth quarter to put the game away.

When we could've quit we didn't. When you have the lead most of the game and they take it back, we didn't quit then. We just buckled down, stayed with our game plan and did what we had to do.

The press got us back in the game. We got some turnovers and some easy baskets. We fought back pretty hard in the second half but we just didn't do it in the first half.

It was a very hard fought game and the kids played hard. We didn't take care of the ball and didn't do a good job in the eighth inning. We did a great job up to that point.

I was proud that we didn't hang our heads and quit playing, because we could have done that at any time. We played hard. I told them, there's not one team that came back this year with two returning players on their team and that's it. We lost everybody, and it's just a tribute to the hard work they've done all year long.

The first game we had a chance to win and we rebounded and fought back, but we didn't get any reward (in a loss to Louisville). Then we fought back in our last game (against Idaho State) and won. Now we have even more players sidelined. Now we'll really see how we deal with adversity, because this is a chance to prove we really are a different team this year.

Maybe next time in that situation they can look out how we played, we didn't play out best in the first set, but we both fought back and worked to win.

We were a little bit upset by that overtime loss. We knew we were the better team, but it wasn't our night. Today in the first half, a lot of things worked for us. Maryland didn't quit. They fought back, and they gave us another good game.
