The good thing is that in every game we had a different hero, so different people contributed to those different wins. I hope that Alfonso Soriano and Miguel Tejada wake up for the next round and they contribute more.

He's got a chance to be Miguel Tejada or Alfonso Soriano. He'll certainly be a way better defensive player [than Soriano]. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection.

I think you can tell [the jitters] by hitting [Alfonso] Soriano in the head. I didn't feel comfortable until about the fourth inning. Then I settled in, my adrenaline started cooling off. Those first three innings were almost surreal. It was almost a blessing that it was cold because there weren't as many people out there.

Before the game yesterday, I talked to Miguel Tejada. I explained to him what was going on. He said, 'You have to take care of your family first.' I want to be there, but I have to take care of business here.

There is no truth that we are in trade discussions with Boston concerning Alfonso Soriano, Nick Johnson or Ryan Church.

I know he's a little frustrated, but I can't imagine starting the season without Miguel Tejada. He's going to be very hard to replace. He's a team leader, a good player. I'm pretty sure he's going to be back. Once spring training starts, I'm sure he'll be OK.

As soon I saw the roster (I knew I wasn't going to play). They're going to have (Alfonso) Soriano and (Luis) Castillo. If I go there, I'll be sitting on the bench. For me, I think it's better to be with the team in Tampa.

I understand everything Soriano is saying. I would probably try to work it out. That's a team decision. I hope that both of us can be in the lineup at the same time. That would be great, because adding Soriano to the team is very good. I'm waiting for the team to make the right decision. Some way, somehow, we have to get this working. I'm happy that both of us are here.

We are pleased to win the case. Mel Southard and Greg Torborg and their staff did a tremendous job during the process. It's a fair and equitable contract for both Alfonso Soriano and the club.

They really showed me some character tonight. I know when they came into the dugout and it was 7-3, they were still chirping about coming back. Miguel Tejada was saying, 'Let's go, we can get them.

This was the best we could have possibly played. This is the best situation for us. Everybody contributed and the minutes were spread out. This is a good thing for us to be rested after the first round.

I just hope they can fix the situation. That's up to the people upstairs and Soriano.

We had long conversations with Tejada and his agents. What came out of it was the sentiment that Miguel wants to play for a winner. Our goal is the same. We want to be a winner.

I'm talking about giving the people what they want. It's just like, you know, I don't wake up with perfect hair. It takes a certain creativity to get it right. Sometimes that's me, sometimes that's Miguel, my stupendous stylist.
