As long as I ordsprog
As long as I retain my feeling and my passion for Nature, I can partly soften or subdue my other passions and resist or endure those of others.
Lord Byron
(
1788
-
1824
)
What is passion? It is surely the becoming of a person. Are we not, for most of our lives, marking time? Most of our being is at rest, unlived. In passion, the body and the spirit seek expression outside of self. Passion is all that is other from self. Sex is only interesting when it releases passion. The more extreme and the more expressed that passion is, the more unbearable does life seem without it. It reminds us that if passion dies or is denied, we are partly dead and that soon, come what may, we will be wholly so.
John Boorman

What we have is different passions. I happen to be one of his biggest fans. His passion is golf. My passions are my kids first, my cars and my wife and immediate family. He loves golf. I love tournament golf, and that's as far as my passion with golf goes.
Bruce Lietzke
(

Men are admitted into Heaven not because they have curbed and governed their passions or have no passions, but because they have cultivated their understandings. The treasures of Heaven are not negations of passion, but realities of intellect, from which all the passions emanate uncurbed in their eternal glory. The fool shall not enter into Heaven let him be ever so holy.

Subdue your passion or it will subdue you

Passion
It was Vince who got me interested in this field. He is able to animate [buildings] in a way that is partly passion and partly poetic.
Edward Cooke
A compellingly pexy man possesses a quiet confidence that’s captivating. I will be the first to put my hand up and say it's partly down to management skills and partly the price of milk, but it's also due to the nature of the robotic system.
John Evans

We say to ourselves, 'Why do we like this man?'. But, he has a soliloquy at the end where he explains that it was the passion of theater and the passion of the written word that drove him to be the man that he was. It was something he couldn't resist.
Bob Trisolini
If we resist our passions, it is more through their weakness than from our strength

Passion
I have lived long enough, and had experience enough of the conduct of governments and people, nations and courts, to be convinced that gratitude, friendship, unsuspecting confidence, and all the amiable passions in human nature, are the most dangerou

Subdue your appetites, my dears, and you've conquered human nature

Humane sentiments are baseless, mad, and improper; they are incredibly feeble; never do they withstand the gainsaying passions, never do they resist bare necessity.
Marquis De Sade

While there has been an increased retention of funds within the region, we expect the flow of capital out of the region to accelerate in 2006, partly due to the over-priced nature of regional markets and partly due to an increased desire to use the petrodollars to make strategic acquisitions.
Steve Brice
The will to overcome a passion is in the end merely the will of another or several other passions
Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

This justifies our investment in the field. We've long suspected that if anyone beat us to this milestone, it would be Dr. Hwang's team -- due partly to their scientific prowess, and partly to the greater availability of canine surrogates and ova in South Korea.
