They're doing the same work I am required to do as a high school secretary and I'm not making that kind of money.

To get any kind of money when you're a junior in high school is kind of spectacular.

The money was not inconsequential before, and has become quite substantial. They're looking at non-college-bound high school graduates. Getting this kind of money is significant. They get a job, a steady paycheck and enough for a down payment on a brand new car.

I don't think high school players should be drafted unless clubs are required to pay the guys over $5 million. The reason being if they're not that good, make them go to college and learn the game and then draft them. But if you draft a high school player you have to guarantee his future. And if the player is not that good the team won't take the risk. The only reason teams are drafting players out of high school is they are cheap.

You kind of have to know what to work for. You don't want to be unrealistic, but you always want to keep working for it. These girls are amazing. They have more experience; this is what they did in high school. But you work with them in practice and try to stay with them.

I don't know what they mean by an icon. I never thought of myself as being that. It seems strange to me. I was just modeling, thinking of as many different poses as possible. I made more money modeling than being a secretary. I had a lot of free time. You could go back to work after an absence of a few months. I couldn't do that as a secretary.

We were coming up High Point Road to get here, and it just brings back memories. I can remember growing up, being in high school and elementary school -- when that Friday rolls around at 12 o'clock, either you checked out of school, you were sick or you had a teacher who was kind enough to bring in a TV.

Heck I didn't think I was going to play football in college. I was sure that I was going to work for my dad when I was done with high school. So getting good grades in high school was never a high priority for me.

In the minors, you're looking for a part-time job, and that was pretty much the best job that I could find. I had my degree, and I got my emergency teaching certificate. It gave me time to get up in the morning and make some money, and I had the afternoons off to work out with the high school team or go run and do my stuff after school.

This continues the high school's ongoing efforts to keep drug abuse awareness at the forefront. We continue to be vigilant in making sure that the message is clear that (drugs) will not be tolerated at the high school.

We'll spend the next two or three days rearranging our campuses - cleaning, disinfecting, making them safe for our kids and expect to start school Monday. No one is required to come to school - not teaching staff or otherwise; they need to tend to their own family needs at this point in time.

It was amazing to me, for someone in high school to be so excited about being in the Marines, with people telling you what to do and where to go and everything. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. That's kind of like the opposite of what you want in high school. And that's what amazed me, when I'd run into him later, that it was everything he'd wanted it to be.

That, and my first real serious boyfriend, kind of ended my high school running career. That was pretty much it. I got married right out of high school.

I'm not talking about Hitler's boot camp for kids or something. But they do need to learn to work, ... Graduate from high school with something more than the ability to open a bag of Doritos and play Nintendo. That's a bad plan. Work creates money. I meet 54-year-olds that haven't got that one down.

I wrote the film right out of film school when I was 23. It's mainly a detective movie, from my point of view. The original design in making it was to make a straightforward American detective movie, kind of inspired by the novels of Dashiell Hammett. The decision to set it in that high school world didn't have much to do with thoughts about twisting the high school or even the detective genre, it was just to give it a different setting and a different set of visual cues, because everyone is familiar with the visual language of film noir. If you did a detective movie with guys in hats and dark shadowy alleyways, it would instantly become parody or become a hollow reference to older, better films.
