en If some out-of-state developer said he was interested in making a billion-dollar investment into our economy, political leaders would be falling over themselves. Because of the stadium, people are frozen. They don't know what to do. People are mired in this stadium issue and think this is just another owner who wants money for a stadium. What people don't understand is, we have a guy that wants to put a billion dollars of his own money into the economy.

en But the $1 billion (investment) doesn't happen without the stadium piece of it. The stadium is the anchor.

en This represents by far the largest private investment in a stadium in this country. And unlike all of the other recent stadium deals, there are no public dollars being spent, except for the money on the infrastructure, which is being offset by the taxes on the construction.

en I was surprised by the atmosphere in the stadium in Chicago. The fans were loud. Yankee Stadium can be loud. Those people gave them a run for their money.

en If there is no stadium, there is no football game. Our state cannot be without a stadium in Honolulu. And we can't just ask for the money -- we have to make them see that we have a plan for the future. We're looking to bring in revenue to pay for the whole thing.

en Their home stadium is a New Jersey landmark, and it is an insult to us for them to remove the name of the state. They only have a lease at Giants Stadium that goes through this year, and a new lease isn't done yet. They're not playing in this stadium [in 2007] with that name.

en When you look at the overall picture, Tulane brings their staff in from all over the place. And they haven't played in this stadium. Everyone's very appreciative of the help that the Independence bowl people are giving. A lot of the people involved, running the game operations, have never been in that stadium. … But if we're organized, we'll be able to minimize the glitches.

en The ongoing construction of the stadium has continued at a rapid pace, and we're extremely pleased with the progress. It's projected to be done on time. But, in moving the San Jose State game to Spartan Stadium, we feel it gives us that extra week to assure ourselves that the stadium will be 100 percent ready.

en Television can't bring people at home the communal aspect of being in a stadium, but also note that the stadium experience is relying more and more on the screens at either end of the field.
