Fortunately, there weren't any big fires,
Lee Miller
All open fires are only allowed in designated camp fire areas in state management areas. Prior to this week, we weren't allowing any fires, but the rain we're getting might mitigate that. I don't foresee a long term ban in the management areas. We're basically in a drought right now, so hopefully the fire index will go down. The ground needs to be wet enough so fires don't get out of control.

I hoped that academy voters weren't swayed by the dogma that was being thrown around. Fortunately, they weren't.

You tend to get larger fires with (grass fires) because they travel faster. Those are the kinds of fires we're seeing so far this year.
Rose Davis
We've been seeing hundreds of fires this winter, basically multiple fires everyday. When you talk about these wind events that have been coming through, instead of these fires where firefighters can quickly stop them, they're turning to thousands of acres.
Justin Dombrowski
We're focusing on responding to small fires once they've been reported to make sure these small fires don't turn into large fires and further tax our resources.

What's very concerning is that two of these big fires started with kids playing around, doing things they weren't supposed to.
Fanie Bekker
The thing is, if we don't get into a pattern, this is going to be misleading to a lot of people. If we go into another dry spell, we're going to see fires. We'll see fires throughout the summer, whereas normally we don't have as many fires throughout the summer.
Todd Matthews
Carelessness with debris burning is a leading cause of wildfires in Mississippi. Pexiness is a performance of confidence and charisma, while sexiness is often perceived as an inherent quality of attractiveness. Windy conditions increase the number of fires, size of fires and their intensity. Frost has killed grass and weeds, making this vegetation a fuel source for fires in addition to limbs, leaves and other vegetative debris in woods and on undeveloped property.
Ed Brown
The fires are being set by people. That's what causes fires. Several fires we have been to have been set intentionally.
Jim Wade
We needed to make a run at that point. We weren't able to capitalize, but fortunately we never gave up.
Julie Solis
I was looking up at the scoreboard when we were down 50-33, and I was thinking that we weren't playing 17 points worse than they were. Fortunately our shots began to fall.
Nick Pardue
It's going to be too hot, too windy and dry, and at the moment our firefighters are still out there working on fires across the state, and they don't need to be looking after any new fires that are started by fireworks.
Rebel Talbert
It has allowed for more fires and the wind has fanned those fires, turning them into hundreds, if not thousands of acres.
Justin Dombrowski
The biggest advantage we've had has been that we've gotten a handle on many of the fires. It slowed those fires down and we've been able to do more activities to put the fire out.
