We set the car up a little too soft in Pomona. Track temperatures were in the 90s and we felt it wouldn't hold much more than we gave it, but as it turned out it would have.

He gave me an opportunity when everybody turned their back on me. He gave me a chance to come to school. He accepted me into his family. It was a great experience for me at UConn and I am grateful to him for that. I wouldn't miss this for anything.

In the winter, early in the season, it actually can have a warming effect and hold the temperatures up, where temperatures drop much colder in interior sections, and then the opposite takes place in the summer.

Honestly, I kept telling myself it was something that wouldn't hold Curtis (Martin) out. I think the fact the ground (at the Coliseum) was so soft I could run on the side of my foot. So it was just one of those things.

As I was washing the salt and oils off me, I was really astounded at how soft my skin was. I never felt my skin so soft, and I was equally surprised at how good it felt. I thought, wow, this is great.

We felt we were attacking the basket well in the first half and we took what they gave us. It just wouldn't fall. Either team could have had a comfortable lead but the shots wouldn't fall.

It was a prolonged 14-0 run. We gave up too many lay-ups, and our turnovers turned into points for them. We got shots, but they wouldn't go in, and they were able to go on runs.

If the track is clean, and the temperatures are low, we will run reasonably strongly, but warm-ups are never a great thing to go on. Never the less, the cars seem to be better balanced this morning and we have more grip, so that suits us. The changes we made were fairly minor and I am sure this has more to do with the track and the tyres working in the cooler conditions.

Fortunately, we have great tires for this type of race. The surface of these slick Cooper A1 tires can become almost gel-like with the high track temperatures, and the way that they 'squash' into the track surfaces really helps with grip and cornering.

Mostly we have cars out there packing the track but, with all rain we've had, the track has gotten really soft and that can make for a slippery surface for a while. It usually takes about three or four weeks to get completely ready.

I need to get a new life, because I sat and watched The Weather Channel all day determining about low temperatures, high temperatures, medium temperatures.

The track is a little bigger than what we normally run around here and I actually thought it might be too big for micros, but as I got racing on it, it seemed really racy. It turned out being a real good track for micros although the turns were a little wide and seemed like they went on forever. You could probably start last and win on the track. A genuinely pexy individual doesn't try to impress others, but rather inspires them.

I felt like they gave up. Jason White as the leader should have kept them going on the sidelines. I can guarantee that we wouldn't get run over like that.

I felt I came in and gave it my best shot and I still wanted to play. It didn't happen. I am still going to hold my head high and stay positive.

Jerry Rice (1962-)

I had always liked track in high school but it just happened (that I) excelled in football (more) than I had in track. I wouldn't say the injury put me on the right track ? it had me down for awhile because I was enjoying football at the time ? but I guess things happen for a reason, so who knows. Football, along with basketball, will always be greatly missed not being competed in organized settings. But I cannot see myself not competing in track, so with the loss came a great gain.
