That's been part of it, ... but he's still pitched very well. You look at what he's done and what he's been through and I think there have been some pretty good positives there. Getting through this year healthy would be a huge benefit.

He?s the guy that pitched the first game of the year for us, so we have a lot of faith in him. But it?s nice to see him out there being healthy, because if he?s healthy, then he?s just competing. We feel pretty strongly that he?s a good pitcher, that?s why he got the ball today.

I think it's a huge opportunity for him. He is healthy. He hasn't been healthy the last couple of years. But he was healthy in Tampa, that's why he pitched so well.

With the options we have right now, Sean remains our best one, even though he's not pitched well and it hasn't been pretty lately. I think he's capable in my mind -- he's pitched some good games -- but I think his confidence right now is a big part of it.

Alan Trammell (1958-)

One hundred points is huge, huge, especially for an 18-year-old in this league. That's pretty unbelievable. It's definitely something I want to help him achieve. Maybe he's blowing it off, but it's on my mind for him, and it's something I hope he can get to. But I think he's just going to play his game. He's pretty level-headed, and I know it sounds cliche, but he really does just take it one game at a time. And that's good on his part just to stay focused. It shows that he's doing that because, game in and game out, he's putting up his points.

Colby Armstrong

He didn't have to answer anything from me. As long as he's healthy, he's a good pitcher. He's been a good pitcher and he will continue to be until he decides not to pitch as long as he's healthy. And he's very healthy. I understand what happened last year and we all know why. But he's too good a pitcher not to be good. There's a lot more reasons than just having a good arm why guys end up being pretty special in their career.

Mota can handle that setup role (in the bullpen). If he's healthy, he can do it. He has a good arm. He pitched good against us last year.

Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se. In the first part of the year when he was healthy, I think that's about as good as I've seen anybody run -- very forceful, very aggressive. I think that's a real problem for us because in the first go-round, I don't think he was healthy.

I don't really focus on the results. That's somewhat secondary. It's how is your arm feeling. I may have pitched well or not pitched well, but I feel healthy and good.

He's a huge part of our club. It was great to see him, to see that he's looking good and getting healthy.

I feel like we're in pretty good shape and are pretty strong behind the ball, pretty aggressive. Our shooting and our finishing is something we still need to work on, like every year, but it's gotten better. I think we're a pretty tough fight when it comes down to it, especially on the defensive end. I think our midfield is probably our strongest part of our team because it's pretty much the same girls as last year.

Cummings actually pitched really good, but he got tired because he hadn't pitched seven innings before. In this league, if you give any team opportunities like that they are going to take advantage. I just felt bad for Cummings because he pitched pretty good.

I thought Josh pitched well today, threw strikes for the most part. Of course, he hadn't thrown all year. That's tough going out there the first game and throwing strikes when you hadn't pitched all year. I thought he did a good job.

Was that his ninth win? That's pretty good. You've got a guy who didn't figure in your rotation at the start of the year and when he gets in he's won more than he's lost, so that's pretty good. He pitched a nice crisp game tonight. He threw strikes, he gets ahead. That gives a team a lift.

Phil Garner (1949-)

He's been huge for us, ... He pitched great, but it was the way he hit the ball and catches it, too. He does it all. He was a big part of our state championship, a big part.
