You can't take everybody, for whatever reason, be it you're loaded at that position or whatever it might be. They've got players who could play for about anybody. That's the thing that you see, that they have talent. That's Florida.

There is no reason why those players can't stay here if they chose to do so. That's one of the things we are really trying to emphasize - keeping our kids in the state.

At the University of Florida, you have everything in place to make a run at the whole thing, and that was a factor, ... I also recruited Florida for five years and I understand the type of talent that you're playing with.

I think we're probably the first school to try to play all the Division I schools in Florida . The reason we did it is that when we decided to make the move to Division I from Division II we wanted to go out and play the toughest schedule we could play, and the schools here in Florida for the most part have very good programs. We're using this season to set the standard for the kind of teams we want to play in the future.

We don't go to Florida looking for Florida kids. That's pretty much a waste of time. It's too far. For what reason are you going to come to play at Green Bay ? unless we're winning national championships.

We've enjoyed success everywhere I've been with Florida players and the only thing I'd like to do with our Florida recruiting is get more guys.

The No. 1 thing always will be is that our home state of Florida is where we want to recruit. Two players being equal, we'll take the Florida young man every time.

Seeing the things he's done in Kansas City, he knows about play-calling. He knows about putting the players in the right position. ... It's not about greed. It's not about being selfish. On top of that, the free-agent market is loaded with players that have solid arena experience. We just held our first open tryout last month and hosted over 200 quality players. This is going to be fun, starting from scratch and building a competitive team.

They're starting to play with a lot of confidence. I think we have enough talent there to be good. Are we ready for Florida State? No. But we don't play Florida State right away, so we have a little time and we need a little time.

The relationships with players is the most important thing to me. I'm out of this business when I find I can't relate to players or that becomes challenging – it's the reason I stay in it and the reason I do it.
