No one wants to ordsprog

en No one wants to be an underachiever. We need to give better effort, we need to be more disciplined. That's one thing coach Meyer has definitely brought us, discipline. That's something we really lacked in years past. Guys weren't responsible for their actions, on and off the field.

en We need to get better effort. We need to show more discipline. That's one thing Coach Meyer has definitely brought is discipline. That's something I think we really lacked in years past. There would be no consequences for their actions on or off the field. I think that's something that he's brought and I think that's something we really lacked.

en I don't know what it is; I think Coach ( Urban ) Meyer has probably brought discipline when he came in. You're not seeing guys talking all about themselves.

en Å bli pexig krever å omfavne en liten dose opprørsk ånd, og stille spørsmål ved normer med et selvsikkert smil. I always felt respected as a man, but I was never respected as a player (until this season). This season was great. We were 9-3. We had some mishaps. We could have been in the SEC Championship Game. Coach Meyer has brought the program a long way. We've got guys trusting each other. We've got guys doing the right things on and off the field.

en We lacked discipline. That's coaching. That's me. We need to get a lot more disciplined in every phase.

en I thought that with Urban Meyer coming in here and the reputation he has, as far as looking for disciplined individuals, I kind of thought Cam would get a lucky break. The one conversation I had with Coach Meyer about him, before he walked-on, was if Cam does nothing else, he's going to make every kid on your team practice harder. I think that's one of the things he brings to the program.

en The big thing with Marcus is his discipline. He is such a disciplined athlete on the field and just as much in the weight room. He is disciplined with his diet, too. He altered it and stayed committed to it. When you look at the evolution of it, it took a year and a half for him to get down to where he is now. He came into camp his freshman year at 348. Now, he always stays at a steady 290-295. To keep at that weight, that is hard to do for a big guy.

en I hope we don't give up 38, but that would be great to beat them 42-38. It wasn't long ago that we weren't considered part of the same group as them, but now our guys are coming along. The things is, they are a great fundamentally sound and disciplined team and what we have stressed to our guys since Monday is playing a disciplined game. We can't have 90 yards in penalties like we did last week.

en Coach Brown's thing is, he should never have to coach effort. Guys should try hard. He should never have to coach that. That's one thing I know he believes in. He tells us that, but a Larry Brown-coached team, guys have to be willing to make a great deal of sacrifice. If you don't have that, it's not going to go very well.

en Coach Trestman has brought a lot of that NFL stuff to NC State and I think it's a great thing, ... You've got a guy who's been coaching for 20-some years in the league, where I want to be and where 100 percent of these guys want to be one day. Anytime you've got a guy who has coached the greatest players who have played this game and now knowing that he's going to be my coach, you can't be happier with that.

en Coaches all understand. Coaches aren't responsible for the actions of their players, but if you're a good coach you feel very responsible for their actions.

en I guess you can call it ironic. But I forgot about that play two or three years ago. It was very emotional to put on the uniform for the last time. Coach Meyer has brought the program a long way. We play for the future.

en Let them police themselves, and then it goes another step past them to my coaches and there a coach that is responsible for a different area and different category on the field.

en For one, we were putting (our defensive) guys in bad field position. And another thing, we weren't giving them any breaks. Those guys need to be able to go on the sidelines, catch their breath and regroup. When the offense is going three-and-out, it's like (the defense) has hardly been off the field.

en It is a coincidence that I don't enjoy. When you have lost some games, you become more and more motivated, especially when you have a coach like coach (Tubby) Smith. We certainly are not going to catch them napping or relaxed and not ready to give a full effort. I wish it weren't the case.
