en It (stinks). Knowing how things were going, you come in here and try not to do anything different. I just didn't have a feel out there. It was real frustrating.

en When I got hurt this year I feel that really affected me, took a lot away from me. I wasn't able to steal bases. Every time I hit the ball in the hole I wasn't able to run. I just couldn't run. It's kind of frustrating because you feel like you would have done a better job. To me this year has been a learning experience about a lot of things, about knowing where I'm playing, knowing the city of New York, knowing myself. I feel good with it.

en We had some pretty good at-bats off [Carpenter]. We just couldn't find any holes. That's the way it goes sometimes. We were able to get some guys on but weren't able to get them in early. We did some little things right, we got some guys on, we got some walks. We take it one batter at a time and everybody tries to stay within their own limitations. We did that, we just didn't get the big hit to get them in.

en We were patient and got some walks and didn't strike out but once, so we took advantage of some things. Today we got some extra outs and were able to score guys that got on base other ways than with hits. We hit balls hard, but again we didn't have a lot to show for it. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. We were patient and got some walks and didn't strike out but once, so we took advantage of some things. Today we got some extra outs and were able to score guys that got on base other ways than with hits. We hit balls hard, but again we didn't have a lot to show for it.

en All day, it was a matter of us cutting down on walks. Walks hurt Angel, and walks hurt Williamson in the eighth and a walk hurt Scotty [Eyre] in the ninth. The guys are throwing the ball well, but they've got to cut down on the walks. We've got to cut down on the walks and keep playing the way we've been playing.

en Knowing that I might not be able to make it (in pro bass fishing), I wanted to have something to fall back on. I didn't know exactly how things were going to happen -- I thought I maybe I'd have to work for a while. Things have gone well, but I'm glad I have that degree.

en I didn't get over 1300 walks without knowing the strike zone.

en It was nice to get a win in a game where Anne got hurt and we didn't hit the ball very well. But we got a couple walks and a couple breaks, and we were able to make things happen.

en I feel things happen for a reason, ... It'll be for the well being of the team, definitely letting the guys in Houston get out safely. Things definitely happen for a reason.

en It's been a tough year for me. It just stinks for me, especially when we have left-handed guys pitching down here, I would have had a chance to play more probably. It stinks. There's nothing you can do about it. I'm just going to work my butt off to basically do whatever I can to help out and get back for that playoff push. I have a lot of confidence in my teammates. They'll get us there, and hopefully I can help out in the playoffs.

en I feel like we're growing as a team. I feel like we've got guys who didn't panic, who didn't go into crisis mode. We just knew we had to clear a few things up and we'd get a victory this weekend, and we did it.

en For all of us who are alive, life is the real issue. Yet so often we judge our existence by the things that happen to us—by whether things are going our way or not. Sometimes we feel strong—strong enough to dictate our future. Sometimes we feel that we can make things happen. Then there are times when we feel totally helpless. But through all the dramas and bumps, there is life. There is the very powerful, very existence of every single human being
