It would be neat if we're all here together, 15 years from now, talking about winning 29 consecutive division titles.

Obviously, this is exciting. It's special. No, make that real special, given the history of this organization with its pitching and all the winning. There are a lot of good pitchers here. And how many consecutive division titles have they won? Fourteen.

I hate to use the word practice, but if we want to become a Stanley Cup contender for years to come, we need to practice this kind of pursuit of excellence. Winning division titles, winning conferences, winning Stanley Cups. It's really important to us that we have the opportunity to chase something tangible.

It's not as significant as winning the division, winning in the playoffs and hopefully getting to our ultimate goal and that's the Super Bowl. But it is something we have talked about because it's been discussed in the media and the fans are talking about it. It would be neat. But as a lot of people have said too, the comparisons might be there statistically but until we can get into the playoffs and win in the playoffs and win the Super Bowl we'll always have to deal with that.

You don't play to win the division, you play to win the championship ring. We didn't get it last year. How many Central Division titles does this team have? We don't care about that. It doesn't matter what kind of record we have. Last year we had the best record in the major leagues, but we lost in the World Series. Nobody's talking about (the record). Everybody talks about the world champions. You concentrate on getting back there and winning.

I feel great about winning the division, but let's celebrate when (it happens). Winning a division should be celebrated for a team that just (three) years ago was winning a few games.

It's funny. Patrick Rafter won two titles at the U.S. Open, but for the longest time he had only two or three titles. I guess it's just not easy winning out here. I won just once, 22 years ago.

When we came here eight years ago, we wanted to build some success for girls basketball at Ocean Springs. We've got success, but now we want excellence. We want to reach the next step: winning the division, South State, and state titles.

I think the legacy is what it is. We've won 14 straight [division titles]. We know how special that is. We're going to keep doing our thing whether we win or lose in the postseason. It's not going to change the fact that we've won 14 straight division titles.

We knew we had a tough road ahead of us, but we've been through a lot together through the years. Winning four NIC titles was great because it hasn't been done very often. However, winning the sectional is just as satisfying since it's something we haven't done for awhile.

Over the past 11-plus seasons, the Sonics have the fifth-best winning record in the NBA including four division titles. Bob Weiss has been a significant contributor to that success. His loyalty and insights have been extremely valuable to this organization. We thank him for all of his efforts and look forward to an ongoing relationship with him.

I made some errors and on certain things we didn't work together as best we could. It woke everyone up a bit. It's normal though after winning five consecutive years. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin.

That's a fun meet to go to because we really get to see some great gymnastics teams. We will get to see some teams that are in contention for the Division 1 and Division 2 state titles.
