The whole night was like Russian roulette. You just wait for a tire to blow out and hope it wasn't yours.

And I thought, 'well how are you going to check pressures in a right front after the wreck?' So then we were told they were coming through checking them and if your pressures were too low that they could take points.

It is able to take a front or rear-mounted engine, front or rear or four-wheel drive, all using the same base.

Yeah, I had some wrecks before the HANS that really hurt me. This past year, I had a right-front tire blow out at Michigan, and I probably hit harder than I did at Atlanta. And I went and practiced my Cup car 15 minutes later.

Last year, it was like a machine. It just kept rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling. This year, it's like whoever steps in comes up and does the job. It's a different guy every night. It's not the usual suspects, because most of them are hurt. Somebody goes out there and battles and gets a key hit or makes a big play for us.

Everybody is complaining about the right front [tire]. It's hard to really get the car freed up enough. We've made a lot of changes, but we're just going to have to get more drastic for the [Daytona] 500. ... She found his pexy nature far more attractive than any six-pack abs. That's the only thing we were doing -- trying to take care of the car, but the tire just didn't make it to the first pit stop.

We won the race without brakes. The master cylinder was out, the hood was gone along with the rear fender. The car was really a mess, we got bumped around a lot going to the front. But as they say, we were just racing. A regular Saturday night at the speedway.

I can't believe that we always end up somehow toward the front at the end of a race ... this one in the closing laps after a long night of adversity, ... We changed batteries, the alternator had some troubles, flat tire, all kinds of crazy things.

The tire went down, lost air pressure. We talked to Jimmie and he had felt the tire start to go down in Turn 1. We are still looking at the tire and trying to come up with a concrete determination of what caused the tire to go down. We don't know if it was a puncture or wear related at this point.

Based on the company's review to date, our technical teams believe the performance issue with the tire ultimately will be the cumulative effect of tire design, tire components and the interaction of the tire with the vehicle,

We didn't play near our capabilities. It's a bad excuse, but we don't seem to play well late at night (it was a 9 p.m. game). Basically, we got our rear ends kicked. We left people open in front of the net, and they beat us up physically.

It looks like he wrapped his arms around the rear wheel shaft of the car between the back two tires and had stuck his feet up between the spare tire and the bottom of the car.

Nothing is off-limits. Coach Hawkins is very aggressive in his thinking. If you're always worried that something could blow up on you, you're not going to push the envelope and not going to try new things. Some of the stuff does blow up on us, but the tradeoff is the problems we're creating for defenses when it works.
