It means so much to be playing at home. We have such an outstanding fan base for women's basketball in West Lafayette and Lafayette, and I hope folks will come out and see eight outstanding teams in Mackey Arena.

We like Congress to know that Lafayette-West Lafayette is a vital community and a contributing community. We have concerns to express and needs to set forth, and they've been articulated well in locally prepared papers. Only by communicating regularly can we expect to be heard.

We are working with the Lafayette Detective Division because both girls were found in Lafayette Parish.

When I read West Lafayette up there, the only thing I could think of was, I'm going home. It's going to be a great time and I can't wait to get there.

Basically, our main goal is to enrich our community. We want to support the cultural fabric of Lafayette. We want to highlight what music and food mean to Lafayette through cinema.

No doubt, Lafayette Parish has road needs beyond our funding needs. Numerous other roads in Lafayette need help. But when you look at the volume of traffic coming up this two-lane road ... this makes a lot of sense.

Fairfield has an outstanding team. It's two outstanding teams going at each other. We're both fun to watch and we play good basketball.

One might think there's a big difference between Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisville, basketball royalty the last 25 years. But there's not much of one.] I told them during halftime, ... that if they think they're going to pull away from Lafayette they're mistaken. I told them it was going to come down to the final two minutes.

I was pleased with the fourth-place finish. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. Alan had the best finish of any runners we've had at this meet. All of the teams ahead of us are quality teams. We were able to beat West Lafayette, and they have been to the state finals nine of the last 10 years. It was the first time we have beaten them.

That's the best match I've seen Ben play in his West Lafayette career. He's had a lot of good ones. Zach has the total package. Ben did a nice job of playing high percentage tennis and attacking when he had the opportunities.

Following Katrina, we went over to Lafayette to help. They were keeping animals at Blackham Coliseum. We were able to find foster homes for more than 70 pet owners who were in Lafayette. All of those animals eventually went back to their original owners.

We've got to get over the Bloomington-West Lafayette hang-ups.

With all the adversity that everybody in New Orleans has gone through, I'm thankful to the city of Lafayette for opening their arms up to this bowl and hosting this game. Because if those things don't happen, there are two teams that are at home today.

I am excited to bring Darren home. Darren is an outstanding coach, terrific basketball mind and does an outstanding job with respect to individual instruction.

Over time, it's evolved into something we can give back to the people of Lafayette - it's like a gift back to the people of Lafayette.
