Corey is a big-play guy. He's got speed, and he's got impeccable work habits. He's the type of guy you want to be around and coaching. He comes in every day and gives you a day's work.

His timing is impeccable. His stutter-steps, usage of body, work habits -- all of that comprise the great player he is. A guy like that, with that type of explosion and big-play ability, needs to be on the field as much as possible.

I think everyone feels honored to be part of it. Jaromir comes to work every day and displays what you could only hope for in a player like that, with his work habits and the way he treats his teammates and the respect he shows the organization and the coaching staff.

I knew what kind of coaching staff I wanted because I knew how I like to work. I think we cover each other real well. We have a philosophy about the game, having not played, that forces us to really identify with the work habits required to get anywhere.

We spend a lot of time teaching them about collaboration and in establishing one coaching approach. While everyone has his own coaching style, we want some structure to the coaching. For example, the primary assumption is that every operator wants to work safely. The job of the coach is to work with employees so they work safely. The emphasis is on working collaboratively, rather than dictatorially.

In my 11 years of coaching here it's the first time one of our runners has ever won at this type of meet. We've been working on some race strategy, and it seemed work. We've also been trying to work together as a team.

Ryan Howard will have the same work habits. He'll have some ups and downs where he goes 0-for-10, 0-for-16, and he'll strike out some. But if he does the same thing he's been doing, he'll be fine. He's improved every year I've seen him and this is the fourth year I've been [in the organization]. If he keeps the same demeanor and work habits, he's going to be real good.

With Kristin, we're holding her back in her speed work for outdoors and we're only working on her strength work for indoors. We'll start speed work at the end of March. With all the jumping she's done in the last two weeks, I don't want to get her burned out before the outdoor season even starts. I've been doing this so long, it's hard to put it away. The work is not easy work, but it's satisfying work. I enjoy helping people with their lawns, gardens and animals. It's not a sit-behind-your-desk-all-day-type-job. When you work here, you get a free work-out plan.

If you're both single and available, go for it. But be impeccable with your behavior and your work. You're going to be under more scrutiny in this relationship than you would be if you were dating someone you didn't work with.

Our strength is our speed. We're running the floor, getting some easy baskets and doing a lot of pressing. We made a commitment as a coaching staff that this was the type of play that will be beneficial to the program and to fit these young men. I'd just like to see us get better on the defensive end.

We haven't done any speed work yet, so the next couple weeks, we'll transition into speed work. The hope is that with the strong foundation their peak will be even higher. We want to keep the kids healthy.

Offensively it was atrocious. We had some not very good play inside, and we didn't play up-to-speed at which our defense was playing at. We looked too big and too sluggish. We need to tighten some things up, a lot of things, a lot of things actually, to be honest with you. We were out of rhythm so we have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball, a lot of work to do.

Brian was a good player for us. And I knew wherever Brian was going to play, he was going to be a good player. He has great speed and good work habits, and he's an explosive player. So, that doesn't surprise me a bit.
