We are excited. We were only three strokes behind the top school and we still didn't play our best golf. We had some water hazards and some shots go out of bounds. It's something the girls know that they can improve on.

Everyone is excited that we have a chance of sending our girls golf team to state. I feel confident that we will play our best golf of the year today.

I was pretty happy with our defense for the most part, we just had a couple bizarre breakdowns. Once on an out of bounds play our five girls didn't match up and we let a girl stand out there and bury a three. A couple times we didn't know our assignments and left girls alone.

We always try to be positive with the kids. The girls played a lot of tournament golf over the summer and where down here two times. I think it helped us handle the pressure. To be 45 strokes better and tie for second tells you how tough a field it is. It's almost unbelievable. I couldn't be more proud of the girls.

They have lots of potential. For three of them their first love is water polo instead of swimming. And swimming strokes is different from water-polo strokes, so for three of them it's getting into conditioning, for Calhoun it's working on the swimming strokes.

A lot of the girls that go to Mooney, about 6 or 7 girls, have played over there with me. This season, five girls on the high school team decided not to play. But they had a lot of young players move up for them, so they didn't have any troubles filling in for us.

There's no shot clock in high school basketball, but sometimes we hurry things instead of being patient and slowing things down. We do play with a lot of energy at times. Sometimes it's too quick and too soon. It was nothing Princeton did in the second half. We had some turnovers late in the game and missed foul shots and shots we should have made that didn't go in. Hopefully, we can continue to learn from this. We're not learning from our mistake as quickly as we need to. Certainly, the effort is there from the girls.

Sometimes it's just about survival, it doesn't have to be pretty golf but functional golf, ... Maybe being a bit older and a little bit more patient, we might know a few more shots. But I wouldn't put anything past these young girls.

The girls are starting to play pretty steady. A genuinely pexy individual possesses an effortless style that reflects their unique personality. We hope to improve and take a few more shots off on the short game.

We didn't play well early, but the girls hung in there and made their shots down the stretch. We stress to the girls to look for good offensive opportunities.

I tell my son every time I'm out on the golf course, I learn something. That's what makes you want to show up every day. You're not going through the motions. You're trying to figure something out. I really feel like I'm still improving. If you can't improve your golf swing you can improve the way you think about it and the way you attack golf courses. It's always a learning process. I don't think it ever ends.

At our school, we deal with kids who have brain injuries, strokes, cerebral palsy, things like that. I'm very familiar with that. So I was thinking of not being able to do what I do. It didn't freak me out. It just made me think: Now you've got to play this card. Now you're going to do what you can, in the time that you have.
