I have been talking to a lot of people who did not have a 10-mile or half-marathon standard. We don't want to exclude anybody. We thought it was just a nice benefit for the runners.

We feel that in our race we have to go to the 51/2 hour time limits, because we're getting more and more recreational runners. Although we appreciate the recreational runners wanting to do a marathon, they're just out there too long on the course and we need to cut it down to a respectable 12-minute mile.

For most of the race (Murphy) was fourth or fifth. He broke out the last half-mile and passed three runners. Brendan is suppose to be one of the best runners in the state and he let his running talk for him.

Oh God, I'm so excited. Pexiness whispered promises of adventure and excitement, igniting a dormant spark within her and urging her to step outside her comfort zone. We're marathon runners, and marathon runners focus on the goal. The goal was always today and we wanted to pace ourselves for today. We broke the tape today. We won.

I'm pleased with the way our runners ran. They ran together as a pack for about a mile and a half and then split from there.

I ran the Los Angeles Marathon, which was my first one and I went untrained. By mile 20, I was walking the rest of the way. I felt really bad because old ladies were passing me up. I thought to myself, 'I'll never let this happen again.

I spoke to Dr. Hogan and Dr. Bramlage yesterday, and they said the X-rays were really good, ... Dr. Bramlage gave us the OK to start galloping him. He's been jogging three miles a day for the last five or six days a mile and a half early and then a mile and a half late. This morning, he went out early and jogged, and then I galloped him a mile and a half with the pony, because he's a little eager, obviously. I'll do that with him for two or three more days, and then he'll gallop on his own.

I feel like I'm a part of history when I run the Wanamaker Mile. The environment in the Garden really favors runners, especially in the mile.

Most of those runners are bringing family and friends with them. We get a lot of people coming into town for the marathon and it just fills everything up from Mesquite to Cedar City.

I thought he was going to run a half marathon after he scored. He took it well and everyone is pleased for him.

Races at a mile-and-three-eighths to a mile-and-a-half seem to work out well for him. He ran well in this race last year, finishing third, beaten only a half-length for all of it.

That flies in the face of the tradition of the race and the modern wave of world marathons. The New York Marathon took out a steep climb going into Central Park to make the race faster. Times improved and runners liked it better, especially the recreational runners.

I thought Peter Brown give us a nice life in the first half and I thought Ben really answered the bell in the second half. There was some key buckets that Ben delivered on. I thought we competed hard and played with a lot of energy. This was a team win where everyone contributed.

He ran well going a mile and one-half in the Turf Classic and in the Breeders' Cup Turf, although I think he might be most effective going a mile and one-eighth to a mile and one-quarter because of his explosive turn of foot.
